They were in big financial trouble. Filed for bankdruptcy, house in foreclosure: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/reliable-source/wp/2016/02/25/real-housewives-of-potomac-star-robyn-dixons-former-maryland-home-on-the-market/?utm_term=.e3efe62598dc I'm surprised they didn't mention it last episode -- then it makes more sense why Karen called Robin when the article about Karen's DH owing millions in tax debt came out. |
+100 I love Giselle, but she's got to stop with all the sexual talk. Her girls are very aware of everything she says and does, and that is *not* a good look. When she was talking about the "two F's" and how she doesn't "feed" him but she's happy to do the other F... oh my goodness. Too much. |
I just can't stand Karen. Right when I think she's becoming somewhat "normal," she falls right back into her insane personality. When Robyn questioned whether she (Karen) was being totally honest, Karen practically started speaking in tongues. When she's called out like that, she can't string one coherent sentence together and instead, starts spewing ridiculous threats. I loved how Robyn just kept calmly eating and laughing at Karen's idiocy.
Another one I can't stand - Juan. Ugh. I have no idea why Robyn sticks with that moron. Did anyone notice how he slapped her butt - HARD? What a loser. He's also modeling that behavior for their boys, neither of whom treat Robyn with any respect. Gee, I wonder why... Love Giselle but she needs to tone down her sex talk. Ashley is ok, but I was disgusted that she went back to Michael. Time to move on, girl! I like Monique and her teddy bear husband, Chris, the best. She can be annoying too, but it's kind of endearing and her husband is so sweet. And her kids! Adorable. I'm wondering what the new woman is going to be like? |
I don't understand the argument that Karen and her husband have separate bank accounts, so she has no debt liability. I'm a lawyer, not in trust/estates/family law, but pretty sure all assets/debts incurred during the marriage are marital property/loses. Doesn't matter whether you file separate taxes or have separate bank accounts. You're married- your finances are co-mingled during the course of the marriage. One of the big differences between marriage and a civil union. Now, certainly depends on how his business is set up if it is a business back tax issue which it sounds like it is. He (and therefore she too) avoids personal liability if it's LLC or similar corp structure which I'm pretty sure it is. But the "we have separate finances even though we've been married 20 years" really isn't an argument! Am I missing something or is she just dumb? |
but wouldn't BBG having an LLC mean that they do have separate finances? I took it to mean Muva Kern was dumbing it down for the Bravo audience and simplifying the situation. Or she really doesn't understand it herself. |
Taxes are jointly and severably liable for married couples. Unless she filed for innocent spouse protection (which she would likely not get since they are still married) then her husbands tax debts are hers. Doesn’t matter if she files jointly or separately with him. Additionally in LLCs the tax attributes flow through to the individual taxpayer. |
Karen is the worst and she's a compulsive liar. All of her scenes come across as so staged. Like the one with her husband and he had to explicitly state for the cameras that she's not a part of the tax stuff.
That's why she gets upset when she films with other people (like Robyn) who don't follow her script explicitly. Ashley: she had to stay with him, otherwise why would she be on the show? She doesn't have any money of her own. What's up with her thinking she has to support her mother? I guess I don't understand this burning need she has that she even realizes is destroying her relationship with her husband. The vows didn't say, "and you will support my mother financially 100%." I'd be unhappy if I was him too. |
I think Ashley feels she owes it to her mom because her mother struggled to raise her and her brother as a single mom. I think the mom leaned on Ashley too much as parent-friend instead of just a parent. And now that Ashley is in a good financial position (solely due to her husband) she wants to share the wealth. Ashley’s comment about her mom working all her life and having nothing to show for it (because mom filed for bankruptcy) was really sad. I don’t think there is anything wrong with helping family if you can. But when you’re married both spouses must agree and Michael clearly doesn’t. |
I have no idea if there is any truth to this but on the radio yesterday they were talking about how Ashley's husband was cheating on her with a Black man recently when he was in England. Apparently the man did not realize Michael was married until he saw him on the show with Ashley. |
Wasn’t that what Karen referenced in the show? They flashed an image of Michael naked and dancing when she was talking about it. |
Then she should get a job and support her mother. |
Shout out to my other LSA-ers! |
Karen Huger is lying- about all of it.
I don't know "for a fact", but common sense tells me this, along with reading her body language and listening to how she is trying to spin this web of lies with all of these circuitous arguments just screams - LIES LIES LIES. |
Whelp they agreed she would manage Oz so that was her job. |
Like how on the reunion last year, she showed up with normal sized breasts, repeating that nothing was different- that she'd lost weight and focusing on her health... multiple times when Andy asked about her chest until later she mentioned in passing (related to 'being in NYC' that Gizelle mentioned) that she had the larger implants removed and smaller put in. Cannot tell the truth to save her life. It's the Joe/Theresa Giudice thing EXCEPT, Theresa is a dummy/asked now questions whereas Karen is no dummy and is way too nosy to NOT know things were financially amiss. I just feel like she could become likeable if she owned it like Robin. If the worst thing that people can say about you is that you are poor, who cares. |
