I lost 20 lbs

Anonymous
I am 5’7 and during 2021 at the height of COVID I was at my max weight of 162. Post kids I had been in the low 150s for about 5 years prior. I cut way back on drinking and have been running 3-5 miles usually 4x a week since that weigh in. I’m down to 140.5 and I’m hoping to be back in the mid 130s eventually - I weight I haven’t seen since college. I was an 8/10 and now I’m back to a 6. Just wanted to post since I can’t share elsewhere. I don’t look that much different. Upper body definitely more noticeable loss than my fat legs. Legs still jiggly and fat but somewhat more toned.

Congrats! Weight training to build muscle might help on the legs.

I just stepped on the scale this morning and am down exactly 20lbs too! I went from 203 to 183 ( I’m 5’9”) I still have 40lbs to go. The weight has come off my face first which is so so so nice.

Congrats to us! It feels amazing!

How'd you do it?

Oh boy! I'm going to use this post as inspiration: I'm in same situation, with same stats, only a few inches taller and a couple pounds higher. Unfortunately, I am still on the wrong side of those 20 extra lbs though! But I just bought a 15-pack pass at my pre-pandemic yoga place and have cut way back on the booze in the last months, so wish me luck.

Any particular actions you took or tips you have to "jumpstart" the process, OP? I just really need to get going in earnest.

Congrats! How long it it take you to lose the weight?

Congrats OP. I’m losing too, but boy is it taking long to lose a bit at a time. I’m amazed at how little I’m eating, but not losing. I gotta get it off. Making chocolate chip cookies every third day is apparently not a great Covid diet strategy. Haha. Now I pay.

NP. a 15 pass yoga session isn't going to help you lose 20 pounds. Yoga will help build strength and flexibility, but it's not really for calorie loss. Diet starts in the kitchen.

Me three! I am 5'6 and went from 183 to 161. I have 15-20 to go, but feel much better. Yesterday, I had to put on a suit for the first time in 3 years and it was much too big! Congrats to you both!
