How often does your 7 year old shower/bathe?

We’ve been on an every other day schedule. Do most kids this age shower every day?

Damn you stanky

DP, but my kid has been known to stretch it to 3-4 days in the winter (with nightly cleaning of the stinky bits. Our bidet is a godsend for that!). She just doesn't get very sweaty, doesn't get foot odor, and has very dry hair that has literally never smelled in her life. I'm the total opposite and need to bathe daily, but some people are just blessed with lucky body chemistry.

We take this approach as well. I think it makes sense. Sometimes you have to bathe daily (especially if wearing sunscreen, going in a pool, playing outside, etc.). But in December or January when they are indoors most of the time and not sweating much? My preference would be every other day but sometimes I let it go longer.

The one caveat here is that it depends on how good the kid is at wiping. There have been plenty of times when I've ordered a bath or shower based entirely on my knowledge of a child's dilettante bathroom habits. But this also serves as motivation to do better in that respect.

Same. My kid's hair actually can't be washed daily -- it would be a rat's nest. Even in summer when we do baths or showers daily, we only wash her hair once a week. The other days we just rinse it or maybe apply conditioner and comb it through.

We will also do a quick rinse of just standing up in the bathtub many nights -- take 2 minutes and saves us a battle over a bath or a struggle getting her OUT of the bath. Like a sponge bath. This is more than adequate in the winter, with a proper bath or shower twice a week.

Every day. She wears deodorant too.

Us too. My 7yo showers on the days he has sports practices/games, or if he comes home from school having gotten super sweaty at recess. Sometimes that’s 2 times a week, sometimes it’s 5. He’s been working on wiping, but up until recently I would make him wash his bottom half in the shower if I felt like he wasn’t fully cleaning himself.

Basically every other day. But I've noticed she's getting stinkier and need to wear deodorant and will be super active this summer, so I think it needs to be bumped up to everyday. But I can't wash her hair everyday, it'll get too dry, so I'll stick to 2x a week for her hair.
