I'm sure the top schools will try. Those that need full pay students and were happy to call a black doctor's kid URM and take them ED won't be able to fill their classes with rural kids who need significant aid. Maybe the country doctors' kids will be the ones to benefit

It not only depends on the courts, but also on decisions by individual colleges and universities.

In some states where state law already requires race-blind admissions, the state universities substituted preferences for (a) poor students of any race and (b) first generation college students of any race. In practice, those alternate preferences might have similar - but NOT identical - outcomes to the prior custom if giving preferences to Hispanic and/or African American applicants.

The application season next year will be rodeo.

Colleges will engage in Massive Resistance and continue to admit based on race. See Brown Vs Board of Education.

Income, location, SES of high school, zip code & parental educational levels are essentially proxies for race. Do they match race perfectly, no, but close.

What you really mean is you don’t want anyone getting outreach or preferences who isn’t your kid.

Until Clarence Thomas resigns from the Supreme Court for being corrupt, no decision it renders where he is a deciding vote is legitimate.

Tis not a question of "should." Kiss racial preferences or however you want to characterize it goodbye.

How dare Sotomayor made $Ms from a book deal and didn’t recuse herself from ruling on a case in which her publisher was a litigant?
