So upset custom blinds don't have feature I wanted

Anonymous
I spent thousands of dollars on these shades, and they don't have the feature where the top can go down and the bottom up
When I asked about he just said oh, those would have been more expensive
I don't know how it was missed. It's the only reason I decided to go with Honeycomb

You don’t know how it was missed? Did you ask for and pay for the feature? If so, send the blinds back.

Really? When you order your won blinds from Bali or another company, there are checks to select all the features: cords, inside or outside mounts, top down opening options etc. You had a bad consultant.

Op here. Later he spoke to my husband, who wasn't involved at all, and said we went back and forth on so many things as if it was my fault. We did look at different window treatments, but with honeycomb, I always wanted this additional feature. He would have gotten more commission because it would have been more extensive so I don't know how it was missed.

Either you ordered that type of blind or you didn't... did you think all blinds automatically had that feature?

I didn't order it myself. He did. This wasn't an online order. I do agree with pp that we should have sat down and gone over each option. It was more of a casual conversation, and then he sent a quote.

OP if the shades are installed on dozens of windows it might be too big of a hassle to have them removed and new ones installed.

But I would talk to your rep and insist the misunderstanding is one his/her side. I would also insist one a removal, re-order, and reinstall. If your rep refuses write a letter to the president of the company. If there is a balance due, don't pay it. IMO you deserve at least a credit.

Is there any kind of money back guarantee?

Also could you just redo a few windows with this feature?

He said he would have to eat the cost but he could order them with that feature, and I would have to pay the difference. My husband is too nice. He asked him to install anyway and said we could think on it. The guy is saying after a few days, if we don't like it, he can order new ones. I know what's going to happen. My husband will be fine with them and make it into a big deal if I am not, as if I'll never be happy with any blind. The guy would be pleased with cardboard.

I was trying to do that and asked him to leave. They are making it seem like I am a huge bit***

OP, if the salesperson sent you a quote that you approved, it was on you to review the quote and ensure that the features you wanted were on it.

Did he think you were extremely price sensitive? When we ordered custom, it was made very clear what the options were and how the would effect the price

It's six windows on our main floor. He's saying the railing will still be the same, so it's not too hard to reinstall.

I don't think so. We initially wanted shutters, but they couldn't be put on the doors, so it would have looked strange as the doors are in the middle of the room, so we decided on a different treatment to keep the treatment all the same. I hate that I will lose my privacy and most likely keep them shut most of the day.
