Question for those that have upgraded to the 48” refrigerator in the Palatine. I understand that it only costs an extra $50 to move up from the 42”, but is there an additional charge for changing the size of the cabinet enclosure?

No additional charge for changing the size of the cabinet enclosure.

Can you keep standard cabinet size for adjacent cabinets if you get the 48” or is it modified to be narrowed?

The adjacent cabinets will look like those in the Palatine Model home (with the 48” built in refrigerator)

The model has a 42” Jenn Air I thought? Is it a 48”?

We upgraded to the 48 inch model JennAir fridge annd the adjacent cabinet layout is the same as the Palatine model home.

I also thought the palatine model had the 42” fridge. In addition to the $50 appliance upcharge, there is a $1k upcharge for cabinets changing from a 42” fridge in an ultra chef kitchen to 48” fridge. For those who upgraded, are you sure there is no cabinet charge?

We were told the cabinets would change…how else would they accommodate a larger fridge in the same space?

I can't believe how expensive these houses are going to be when all completed.. My design studio expenses are at $200K+ when I initially budgeted only $100K. Just insane

Yeah, 200K for design center is extremely high.. We downgraded everything and brought it below 100K. See if you can do that.. It feels so much better.

How did you manage downgrade? the floor alone is over 70K for us .. EHW on level 1 and 2 and LVP in basement

Yeah, we went with standard carpet on level 2 (will eventually go for hardwood) and level 3 carpet for basement... so, that cut the cost out.
