Shrinking on Apple TV

From the producers of Ted Lasso. It’s so good although I’ve only watched 2 episodes. I’ve never been a Jason Segal fan but he’s great in this role and Harrison Ford is very funny with a dry sense of humor. I’m excited for more episodes to drop.

Loved Ted Lasso and big Harrison Ford fans but this series just doesn’t do it for DH and me. We also watched the first two episodes. Ah well.

Glad someone started this thread.
I love this new show!
It is clever and deep, but fun and funny at the same time.

Jason Segal is mature and layered. He is great in this role!
And Harrison Ford plays an old guy perfectly.

I can’t for this series to continue.

This. I love everyone in it and it's well done but it's not very joyful. I may watch the rest of it after all episodes are released.

Really like it! Another great apple show.

I can’t imagine a parent checking out like Segal’s character did after his wife died.

I love it. I watched the first two episodes Wednesday. Then re-watched the first episode last night with DH. He gave me permission to watch it on my own lol, I think it's too "mushy" for him (though he did laugh out loud at a couple points).

I think it's touching and funny and feel good.

There were a few great lines but my favorite was "I'm a white guy in Pasadena. The police will probably bring the car back to my house." Also when Gaby commented that it looked like her water bottle had a baby.

I love it. I have always had such a huge crush on Jason Segel, since HIMYM.

Me too. It doesn't ring true especially for his character. Some kind of gruff blue collar worker or an emotionally unavailable big law lawyer type that works constantly I could see, but a therapist like Segal's character? Doesn't make sense to me.

I am the PP who quoted a couple favorite lines. This show requires a LOT of suspension of disbelief. It's extremely unrealistic in a lot of ways. But still great.

+1. He gave the reason that the daughter looks just like her mom. I thought that was weak.

I can suspend my disbelief to a point but this vigilante shrink business is so unrealistic that it is annoying. He'd have lost his license by now.

Because severe grief and depression are rational?

Still doesn't ring true.

Yes! A dad that enjoys watching Home Alone in the bubble bath is not the type that would emotionally abandon his daughter after her mom died. Or have a pool party with two young bikini ladies.

But I'm willing to keep watching, I do enjoy the writing.
