The only good thing is this - Josh will likely spend the rest of his miserable life in federal prison. He’ll serve every day. There is no early out. The Feds win close to 98% of these cases. He is toast.

Isn’t Jom Bob well-connected?

Just in fundementalist circles and maybe around his small town--not in a "federal" way.

Yeah. Well connected in this case would mean a quiet plea deal, not an indictment and jail.

Not going to happen. Not with federal charges of crimes against children.

He was offered a 10 year plea deal and turned it down.

Guessing he’s arrogant enough to think his pseudo celebrity status plus Jesus will let him go free.

+1 If theare was a quiet plea deal to be had it would have happened already. Perv’s going to the slammer.

The lawyers were probably waiting for the outcome of the motions to suppress and other motions.

And I don't feel sorry for her one bit for enabling her scumbag husband.

np Honestly, you should feel sorry for Anna since she was raised in a cult.

At least one of her siblings, raised in the same cult that she was, offered her a way out and she declined.
it is not that easy.

Where did you see a photo of Anna?

There’s video of them on the daily mail.

I used to feel sorry for Anna. Now, I think she is almost as pathetic as he is.

Same. I used to be very sympathetic towards Anna because I know two people who left the Fundie movement once they reached 18. One is female and the level of education she received is appalling. Her skillset was basically caregiving and homemaking. I met them both through my job years ago and I've seen their struggles to adapt to the traditional world around them... learning technology, learning social norms, job struggles, and the biggest of all, educational struggles. It took them both years of hard work to be able to just survive a bit above the poverty line, but they are now thriving.

It can be done IF the person wants it... and I don't see that from Anna. She doesn't want to be free of the Duggars or the Fundie movement. She has plenty of resources that others who leave the lifestyle could only dream of having!

What really made me change my mind is when I read the article that said she had left the kids with Jim Bob & Michelle so she could live with Josh fulltime at his location. She CHOSE him over her own kids. Pathetic!

My wife was assigned to the ICAC taskforce for a year. It was a very hard year for her. She sat me down one day early into her assignment and gave me signs to watch for in her, like depression, increased alcohol intake, and suicidal thoughts. It scared the crap out of me to learn that those in that field have a higher than average rate of suicide and alcoholism.

Anyone who works or worked to bring these predators down are literal heroes.

Isn’t the whole clan besties with the Huckabees? I wonder what those paragons of family values have to say about this.

I used to feel sorry for her, but no longer. She is familiar with the larger world and her brother offered to help her and the kids when the Ashley Madison thing broke, and she turned him down.

She is enabling a criminal, putting her kids at huge risk, and bringing another child into a horrible situation. No sympathy here.

Wow. I have no words. She has six kids - ages 11 to 1 and she abandoned ALL of them? Both of their parents for six months. Insane.

In fairness Josh was raised in the same cult so if she's not responsible then neither is he. If you think he's responsible then you must consider the same for her.

Not PP but here. Yes, it’s a tabloid but they had exclusive access to the court documents.
