new Reade/Biden thread

I wasn’t a Biden supporter during the primaries by any stretch, but I don’t believe Tara Reade. Her *weird* love letters to Vladimir Putin—right before her public story changed dramatically—tell me everything I need to know. Sorry, but that can’t be waved away. It’s sketchy as hell. And if those letters are irrelevant, why did Reade attempt to delete them and make them disappear? She also told Megyn Kelly that she refuses to take a polygraph/lie detector test. If you’re lying and you know it, the test will expose you. This just reeks of a political hit job. And FWIW, i’m a liberal and if I honestly believed Biden did what Reade is alleging, I wouldn’t vote for him.

This woman had 11 years. I guess she cashed the check that someone sent and needs to hold up her end of the bargain. Makes no sense.

Joe Biden has been vetted to death. Obama's team did real vetting. Not like what Trump does.

+1. Plus, Biden’s accusers said he rubbed their shoulders or hair. It’s no secret Biden was touchy back then, although people have put different interpretations on it and if it was unwelcome then it was obviously wrong.

Still, it’s a far cry from the pussy grabbing that Trump has openly boasted about.

Top pp, how many times are you planning to bump stuff like this without giving the full story or context? Just trying to plan for how many times we’ll all have to answer you. Again and again. There should be some sort of rule about trying to bury Tara’s issues under heaps of old topics that we’ve already addressed in the thread.

I had no idea just how cocky and full of himself he was/is until I started watching old videos of his interviews. And of course, his plagiarized speeches.

Tara Reade reminds me of Juanita Broderick (who accused Clinton of rape and had plenty of supporting evidence). Maybe her politics make her seem unsavory now, but in 1993, she told several people that she was harassed. She tried to file a complaint (most people don’t). She left her job. Her intern didn’t understand why she quickly left. I haven’t heard of any issues with her work or employment record. Memories are tricky, and there are inconsistencies now, but her neighbor, her brother, her friends all have pretty consistent accounts. I’ve evaluated credibility a lot for my job, and to me, her story is credible. I don’t understand why we aren’t holding her to the same standards as other women who have claimed harassment, other than politics. And that decision has ruined #metoo.

Anyway - Hard to know which 2020 candidate is “rapier” but I guess I’ll have to swallow a little (thanks for the advice, Jill!) and vote for Joe.
