DP... I made comment up thread that the reason Slovenia is doing as well as it is is indeed because of the EU. Without it, I would venture to guess that many Slovenians would become economic migrants (ie, illegal immigrants) to some of those more well off European countries. And this is the reason why you probably don't see as many illegal immigrant Slovenians in the US. Why would they come here and be an illegal immigrant if they can go to a closer country where they blend in better and get great social services and welfare?

Africans come to the US even though it's far away because they can blend in better. But there are many African migrants in places like Italy, France and the UK. The US has more illegal immigrants from its neighboring poor sh1thole countries.

Russia still has very good relationship with Slovenia and the trades a lot of goods with it. There are many wealthy Russians living in Slovenia.

You can pretend that Slovenia is a self sufficient country, but the reality is that without the EU pouring millions into that country, it would indeed still be a sh1tshow. Without the EU, Slovenia would've still been a sh1tshow with Russia as its master. And since Slovenia receives more money from the EU than it contributes, I'd say Slovenians are the freeloaders of the EU.

We have friends who travel extensively throughout Europe. They were appalled by Trump's "shithole" comment, so we asked if they had ever considered traveling to Haiti or any African countries. Of course, their answer was no. "But why?" we asked. Crickets.

Trump implied that the people coming from these countries have something wrong with them. That is vicious and untrue.

Sadly yes, our education system has failed. The way racism supersedes basic critical thinking skills in the minds of so many proves that out.

Our educational system is strained to the point of failure in many places because of the extremely large numbers of students for whom we're trying to provide the needed education to attend college and/or technical training while also providing special needs services, breakfast/lunch/snacks/weekend backpacks, counseling, psychological evaluations, medical treatment, after school care, music and art opportunities, second language instruction, etc. IT IS EXPENSIVE.

And then add in the liberal fight to provide sanctuary for illegal immigrants, and we have some schools where 1/3 of the students are ESOL. That comes with big costs - both quantifiable and unquantifiable.

Page 13 of 32 lists Hybla Valley at 91% Black and Hispanic. Now the real breakdown is 81% Hispanic , 5% Asian, 10% Black, 2 % white, etc.
65% Limited English Proficiency so if every Asian and Black student got LEP that still leaves 50%-remove white or other and the school hypothetically still has 47% Hispanic LEP .

So why is data combined on Black and Hispanic?

Those countries are indeed sh1tholes, and that's why they want to leave them. It's also why your ancestors left their sh1thole countries, and why Trump's mother left her's. For me, the problem is not that he called the countries sh1tholes, but that he said "why do we let in people from these sh1tholes". The US has been letting in people from sh1tholes for over 200 years. Many of these immigrants from these sh1thole countries take on the menial low wage jobs that Americans don't want, like home health aides and such. Trump seems to have no issues with these people from sh1thole working at his resorts, too. I guess as long as he can make a quick buck off of them, then that's ok, but otherwise, no, we don't want poor brown/black people.. we want white people. That's essentially what he's saying. It's racist to say the least, and you just can't admit it.

100% totally agree with this. I guess the question is, why do we *have* to continue being the America of yesteryear if those policies don't benefit us today? I'm not saying they don't.
