Why are you here, posting, in such a useless "empty space" ?

If my dc's club was hiring someone so toxic mid year (meaning: I accepted a team offer to play for Coach A and now we are getting Coach B, which I did not agree to), I would want ALL the information so I could be sure to attend practices and closely supervise his interactions with my Larla. I will not tolerate any abusive behavior towards my children.

My friends daughter played for him at GFR on the 09's and there was a dad on the team who recorded all of their games. He had to remove the audio before sharing with parents at GD's request because he was caught being so terrible to girls on the sideline. At least 6 girls left his 09 team this past summer because of it. Yes, some people stayed and will tolerate this type of abuse if the coach is winning but it is a FACT that he is verbally abusive to girls. And I don't mind my kid being pushed hard but being called names and berated in front of her teammates is abuse and crosses a line!

CC FIRED HIM from FCV - why in the WORLD would VRSC hire him now???

Btw- you can't remove audio from VEO... also "my friends daughter" sooo this is so far removed. Game of telephone, truths because totally twisted. Absolutely sad state this world is.

It wasn't VEO, it was a hand held video camera. The dad is notorious for recording the matches and posting them on youtube. If you want to speculate that this isn't accurate, that's fine but I assure you it happened. I saw many of the clips and he has covered them up with sound bites from EPL games!

Again, can’t quite add up. Parents aren’t allowed on the side line with players and coaches?? So this guy video-ed across the field and got clear audio?? Haha.

Nope, he requested from refs to be on the sideline where the teams were and was usually granted that permission as long as he stood back from the sideline, usually up a hill or in bleachers at a stadium. Not always, but often he was allowed. I've seen the videos and he's clearly on the side with the coaches and players.

Now this gets better…the story evolves to great detail. “He stood back from the sideline” (Up a hill or in the bleaches at the stadium) how does that allow for justifiable audio? Only reason you have this notion he was on the side line with players and coaches is because he films his close ups during WARM UPS. Not one ref allows during game time parents near ear shot of coaches and players. Huge violations and fines.

So, the guy who filmed GD's games at GFR made all of his videos public. You can now see for yourself that yes, indeed, the parent who filmed them did stand behind the coaches and players to film. I have not taken my time to go through them and find examples of GD yelliing/berating players yet but you can see clearly here that this dad was indeed filming from behind the coaches and their voices are both clear as a bell on the older videos.

That was a game from 4 yrs ago… we are reaching at this point. C’mon why drum of this string from months ago just to prove a very weak point which isn’t even proving he’s berating anyone. That video looks like the girls were 10 yrs old… of course you have random parents sneaking behind the bench. Please show me a video of any team in the last 18 months that you have the guy standing between the bench during a U15 U16 game??

It was a U14 state cup game. But whatever, just showing that it happened b/c everyone was so adamant that there was no way a ref would allow this and he's for sure in ear shot of the coaches.

Had no issues. My DD likes the style (not kickball) for those who claim he plays that style. Watched his entire practice last night and no balls left the ground unless striking for the goal. A lot of negativity was gathered on this string about him. I’d say VRSC has had a lot of talent coming out at multiple age groups to test the waters. I’m sure this is giving VRSC current players angst.

Oh pray tell why? What if that was the objective of this practice session. Dumb comment.

LOL. People are coming to VRSC practices to get touches in because almost every other club has had fields shut down for weeks.

No. It is not. Don't lie to yourself, and everyone else. You were happy because you believed it to be only 500 sideways and backwards passes every game from now on. If it was the objective of the practice, in your giddiness to tell everyone about it you would have mentioned it.

Moreover, I hate to break it to you most girls currently playing for VRSC, across the age groups I have seen, don't have the technical skills to play the tika-taka style. And they won't magically appear overnight.

What a happy ignorant know nothing you are, Sir/Madame/M'theydy.

Since we have literal people on this string who can’t get a nuance or a jist. Here is what was meant with this “hot take.” Coaching style was quick 1 maybe 2 touches to feet and proper space. Drills worked movement with the ball in space even with pressure. No long balls or kick and run and pray to track down the ball. Goalie’s were impressive with how fast the balls were moving. I know the positive feedback on here is not well regarded.

Right, seems the kick and run style currently prevails at this club...sometimes blunt force trauma is the only way the ball advances up the pitch.

There is a place for direct football. Liverpool was extremely successful under Klopp playing direct football. However, they also used a high intensity press in conjunction with the style. Again, it takes special personnel to accomplish it. I'd be surprised if many/any of the youth clubs around here could replicate it. Kick and run, on the other hand...

This is like pointing to Larry Csonka and the 72 Dolphins to justify your kid's football team not throwing the ball.
