we have literally only had one full day off, dude. yesterday was still commuting back and forth for my half day of "orderly shutdown" ... for which my agency has refused to let us record hours so won't get paid for that. when i got home i spent a couple hours doomscrolling and eating my feelings.

today i had some physical therapy i had already scheduled (woo, i get two hours of leave "back") and met a friend for coffee.

not getting to the honey-do list unless this goes into next week.

This makes me laugh. The last three people we have elected to the Presidency are old white men with some level of used car salesman schtick as well as clearly impaired mental faculties. America rejected two highly qualified, intelligent women with proven leadership credentials, and in 2016 conservative voters rejected every candidate with solid, traditional conservative credentials.

I'm not a huge fan of Newsom, but I am a huge fan of getting MAGA out of power. Let's do it.

I did not know the CEO of GM and CEO of Citigroup ran for the job. Those are the real women who should run. Not the two you are talking about. One in 107 days could not articulate any plans and the other passed out as just running for office was too much work.

As a woman, apparently you have to be the CEO of one of the largest and most well known companies in the world to be considered qualified to run. If you're a man you just have to inherit your dad's money, grift like HE!!, and make full use of the bankruptcy laws, or ride the coattails of your dad, or write a victimhood narrative and then get bankrolled by big tech.

Both Harris and Clinton lost to a deeply flawed candidate while the deeply flawed Biden beat him. It sucks, but for a woman Democrat to win the presidency, she would need to be more qualified than Harris and Clinton, which isn't possible for a politician, so yeah, they would probably need to be the CEO of a huge company.

Hillary was ok with Bill get BJs from interns and Kamala screwed her way to top. Honestly JD Vance’s wife more qualified than either of them

Sorry babe Serena Joy southeast Asian edition is not more qualified than f-ing Hilary Clinton and Kamala Harris

I’ve been having a fantastic vacation that had been planned for months already so I didn’t have to do any of this “orderly shutdown” BS. That’s a section heading - didn’t show us what the section said. If it said that it was going to give healthcare for undocumented or non-DACA people they 100% would have shown us that language. They just showed us a section heading. Also, many non citizens are LEGALLY in the US (green card holders, students, etc) and I could believe they would be referenced and covered under existing provisions.

Me again. Just hopped over to the politics board and sure enough someone had posted the section language. I was correct, it doesn’t say what the propaganda tweet above says it does.

The problem here is that it's a lose-lose for Democrats AND CONGRESS (including the Republicans who are too scared or selfish to admit it). Accepting the CR and impoundment and accepting that these will henceforth be passed without negotiation is ALSO sidelining Congress, but with their votes to go along with it.

I don't think Dems stood up early or hard enough, but just giving up the tiny bit of power they have left isn't going to stop this in any world either.
