TSJFC

As a business why does the TSJ continue running a soccer program? With all the coaches and field rental expenses, can't see them having this be anything but a negative on their bottom line. Maybe their overall number of teams covers for it all. Is there a strategic reason for this gym to continue to invest in the soccer department other than specialized training at their facility? It seems strange that they would want to continue running it when the soccer side receives so much negativity. Maybe I'm wrong and the soccer side is actually bringing positive numbers.

This is such a shit disturber type of post.

I can say as a parent of a current player who drives to TSJ fields in Loudoun this season I would have loved nothing more than to have been told by TSJ that they would be moving things to Springfield. But that isn’t the case because after talking to the coach about our offer for next season we have decided to accept a different offer to play closer to home.

The only intent I can see from your post is just to place uncertainty in people’s minds about whether TSJ is being honest or not. TSJ like many clubs have gone through some changes and uncertainty in the past year, but they were true to their word regarding where we would practice all season.

cool. So where will practice be?

TSJ has never been very straight forward based on our experiences. Always like pulling teeth to get an honest answer.

As long as the rosters are full of paying customers they make the same amount if the teams win or lose.

Field space from Loudoun is not that expensive when you have 40+ players on a field

40+ players on a field for a practice time slot is common at all the local clubs afaik. Three or full full sided teams is a common practice situation.

Same place it was all this year back when TSJFC haters tried to stir the pot early this season. If you were in the club you would know what they are saying about practices. Our decision was based on not wanting to drive to the location of next year's practices. These claims that TSJFC not having a field or won't get one or didn't build one, are just noise and does not reflect reality from somebody who plays for the club.

We dont play for the club. I see Hanson and Potomac Lakes listed. Is that accurate? What about Bles Park?

We have been at Hanson and or Potomac Lakes the entire season. We may have had an odd practice somewhere else but I can’t recall.
This does not account for winter weather and or preseason training.

Additionally I can count on one hand the times we have had three teams on a field for practice. Has been 2 almost every practice. And sometimes just are team for the whole field.

As a point of reference, we are leaving TSJ. But not because of lack of fields or lack of a facility.

Early season was grass.
Then moved to the turf.
Haven't been on grass in months.

Why are you leaving?

Field wise -

1. Not surprised practices have more space. team counts were decimated. What was 2-3 teams per age group is now 1. Maybe next year they recover?

2. Rec. how has that program gone? That is the determinant of field space. When I’ve been to Hanson, the fields previously used for rec (3&4) have been pretty empty. Maybe they’re at Heron?

We are leaving because of the commute and nothing else.
