if the said TBD club offers you a contract why wouldn't you? You act like these coaches are leaving Barcelona or Ajax academy. It's GFR and Herndon.

Its risky. The money to pay the coaches comes from the players fees. The new club doesn't have any players.

It has a couple rich dudes running it though. I assume they are putting some cash into the start up but long term this club will probably be a huge bust.

I agree with you on the putting the money forward. It'll depend who they link this club with. They won't stand alone, I'm sure there's a big club that will support them and they'll play under that club's colors.

Hate where you currently are so you decide to make your own thing but then you realize that starting a club in this area and competing with HYS, GFR, Loudoun, McLean, Valor and everyone else. I don't see any other way how this "club" survives at all standing alone.

Sterling is playing under HYS for girls and West VA for boys. Loudoun has Loudoun East. FCV/St. James has their North and South. Maybe Riverbend will be an extension of another club while still keeping their Phoenix.

At Herndon, these boy team coaches all left after the fall season:

2008 ECNL-RL (first coach quit in late spring a month after tryouts, then second coach left, HYS told parents not hiring another coach)
2010 ECNL-RL
2011 ECNL-RL
2013 ECNL-RL
2014 pre-ECNL

So almost all of their boys 1st teams lost their coaches. A coach who had the 2nd 2010/2013 team also left.
