Green yogurt twice a day?

Anonymous
I’m trying to stay in a specific calorie deficit but I’m finding myself famished around 3pm every day, and having a hard time finding low-calorie yet filling snacks. So this is where yogurt comes into play.

I’ve been having a cup of Chobani fruit on the bottom (140 calorie) every afternoon and it is so satiating, it completely holds me over until dinner. Plus the protein! But I also have one at breakfast.

At this point in my weight loss attempts, I’m thinking calories and protein/healthy fats are the most important thing, right? But I worry about the sugar (17g!!!)

So please help me. Tell me, do I continue with this snack because it satiates me, or should I find something else?

What if you swap in plain nonfat Greek yogurt with 1/2 tsp of honey? That should be less sugar but equally satisfying.

I would switch to Oikos pro. Has 20 grams of protein

If you really don't like plain yogurt, some of the Siggi's flavors only have 5 grams of added sugar.

THIS! OP your current yoghurt has less than 8g protein yet 17g sugar. Honestly, I say it’s more a dessert.

Oikos has two high protein/ low sugar options. Both have lower calories than your current. Higher protein will keep you full so you won’t need a 2nd.
Triple Zero is 15g protein and comes in tons of flavors, or Oikos Protein with is more $ but 20g protein! They both use sweetener but aren’t bad.
I also second Siig.

Bottom line, you need to increase protein and lower added sugar.

Agree with pps. Too much sugar. I'm a huge fan of boiled eggs as a quick and filling snack. I eat about half the yolk. Sprinkle of salt and I'm good to go.

Here is a snack idea for you that I got from weight watchers - take the non-fat plain greek yogurt and mix it with a tablespoon of sugar free pudding mix. It's like a thick filling cheesecake.

This is so depressing.

I’d swap for plain whole milk yogurt with some frozen blueberries.

Naturally, having those 30 extra calories in the whole yolk would just be gluttonous.

That would be a lot more than 140 calories

Agree. Plain nonfat or low-fat Greek yogurt for lowest calorie impact plus protein. Add a couple teaspoons of chia seeds for some fiber and a small drizzle of honey (less than teaspoon)
