Because SO many of the drivers are awful. Yes, there are bad DC/VA drivers. Yes, there are some good MD drivers. But there are so many negligent, incompetent, all out terrible MD drivers.

We drove to/from Maine this past Christmas. The only drivers I encountered squatting in the left lane were Maryland drivers. I was in f#cking Massachusetts and the left land squatter had a Maryland plate. I was flabbergasted
