LGBTQ+ and Catholicism

Someone recently posted that they attended an LGBTQ+ friendly Catholic Church during their college years. I didn’t know that some Catholic Churches were more liberal. I know several LGBTQ+ families who feel very judged and unrecognized by the Catholic Church and it’s members. What do you know about the topic?

Sounds troll-y. You're asking not about yourself.

Well, I'm sure it's frowned upon by many Christian denominations. This isn't exclusive to the Catholic drnomination. If your friends feel uncomfortable where they are, they should seek a new parish or Christian denomination.

Here is a book by a Jesuit on the subject.

It’s really just time when Catholics realize how unholy it is to shun any group.

But like why would you want to be a part of a faith that says acting on your natural desires is sinful? I know they say that being gay isn't inherently sinful but living a full life as a gay person is considered wrong so why would you want to be a part of this faith?

Well the Pope says being gay is okay so you can go back to Catholicism

What does affirming mean? Will they marry you? Bless your same-sex union? Or simply tolerate your presence?

Hmmm. Yes. That’s how theology and religion should work. Abandon your doctrine in the name of social pressure.

Yet he still regards gay relationships as sinful and is most definitely against gay marriage in a Catholic church.
