| I'm planning to change mine. |
|
I wake up at 6, get dressed and head down to make coffee. While my coffee is brewing, I empty out the dishwasher and make my kids lunches. I am usually done with all of my morning tasks by 6:40. Then I get to sit down, drink my coffee, and watching the morning news. I start my work at 7:30.
|
| Wake up, eat breakfast then spend the rest of the morning taking my daily shower, getting dressed, doing my hair and finally my makeup before I am out the door. |
|
15 minutes.
Get dressed, put on some jewelry, put in contacts, put on deodorant, brush hair and get it out of my face (simple ponytail or braid), brush teeth. The end. I don't even wash my face. I shower at night (every other day, sometimes daily). I don't even own any makeup. On days when I'm going into the office (2x per week), I get up 15 mins before the kids to do this (7:45am). On days that I work from home, I get up when the kids get up at 8am, get them dressed, give them breakfast, and hand them over to the nanny. Then I start work. I do my morning routine after I've gotten a few work tasks done. It's a nice little break. On weekends, if we've got plans or if I'm solo with both kids, I'll get up at 7:45 to get ready. If we're planning a chill family day, I'll get up at 8 with the kids and then take 15 minutes at some point around 9 to get ready. Sleep is my priority

Wake up around 7, drink water then pee. Morning face routine (Micellar Cleansing Water With Vitamin C on a washable fabric disc, toner, hyaluronic acid, moisturizer, sunscreen) and then get dressed. Head downstairs, sign DD's agenda, throw in a snack, put out her breakfast. Make sure she has on socks (she has ADHD and forgets them nearly half the time).
Once she gets out the door I make my tea, take my morning pills, and start work around 8am. |
|
I go into the office every day.
15-20 min if I am not emptying dishwasher or prepping kids' breakfast. Shower the night before. Brush teeth/put in contacts. Dampen hair and brush it out. Put on a bit of makeup (foundation, eyeliner, mascara.) Get dressed (laid out the night before.) Grab lunch (packed the night before) and head out. Add another 10-15 if I am emptying the dishwasher, prepping kids' breakfast, getting them up, etc. I hate to just sit at home drinking coffee/watching the news/etc. I get up 6:20ish and am out the door between 6:40 and 7. |

I'm trying to change mine. I have a bad habit of doom scrolling early in the morning and I don't think it's healthy.
I get up with my high schooler at 6:20ish and take the dog out, make coffee, pack lunches for both kids. High schooler leaves just after 7, I doom scroll and have the Today Show on while I drink coffee and eat a kind bar. Exceptions: I work out usually one week day morning (and take a workout class on Saturday) and on that day I do a you tube video or similar. Or, some mornings I dive into work on my lap top during that time. OR, I have an important video call and so I shower during this time. I take the dog for a walk around 8, then come home to help my 5th grader get ready for the bus. Start working remotely around 9. Try to shower after working some. |

This is my recent very lazy schedule. I have one 11 year old. Alarm goes off at 6:30. I lie in bed listening to NPR for ~30 minutes. Around 7 I make sure DS is doing whatever he needs to be doing (getting dressed, emptying the dishwasher, practicing his instrument, etc) and not on the computer.
Then I take a few minutes to do the Wordle and other NY Times games. Around 7:20 I shower and get dressed. Head downstairs around 7:50 or 8 to make DS's breakfast and lunch (sometimes he's already eaten cereal by now). Then I make my own coffee and breakfast. DS packs up his backpack and usually does the wordle somewhere in there. We get out of the house between 8:15 and 8:30 to get DS to SACC, then I come home and start my workday. When it was warmer we'd walk a couple days a week in which case I'd expedite my schedule a bit to be out of the house closer to 8 I don't know how I did it when I was going into office every day. I vaguely recall typically getting up before DS was up to take care of his breakfast, etc., and we probably got out of the house closer to 7:45 most days. |

I work out of the home and I am single, no kids. I wake up at 6 and make coffee and chill on the couch on my phone for 15-20 minutes to wake up. Usually put on local news. Then hop in the shower. I put on local public radio while I’m in there. I apply hair product in the shower. I shave my mustache if I need to 😅. Out by 6:45 and put my curly hair in a plop while I get dressed and put on my skincare and deodorant. There’s usually a bit more coffee and phone time. Start drying my hair at 7. Dry it for 10-20 minutes depending how patient I am and how good I want it to look that day. Start my car if it’s really cold, brush my teeth, put on a bit of makeup, maybe grab something for lunch, put on my shoes and out the door by 7:32 at the latest.
So it’s about an hour and a half. If I don’t wash my hair then I’ll wake up at 6:30 and it’s only an hour and more relaxed. If I make it out of the house by 7:25 I can stop for more coffee at a stand. I really should replace the phone with something else. DCUM first thing in the morning can’t be healthy. My New Year’s resolution was no more snooze button and I’m doing amazing so far. One thing at a time. |

If I'm going into the office (3-5x month):
- prep everything the night before: work outfit, work bag, coffee set to brew, protein bar and water bottle. kids help prep lunches, backpacks, and outfits (3 kids K-4th grade) - sleep in workout clothes, wake at 5, workout for 45 mins, get myself ready - DH gets kids ready and breakfast. Usually someone is sprinting for the bus. - bus picks up before 7 and I'm in the car at 7 so I can be in the office early and leave before 4. WFH day: - same prep work as office day minus work items - sleep until 6, get coffee, DH and I tag team helping kids get ready. - work out, DH and I do house basics, shower, dress and do 5 min makeup, grab more coffee and breakfast - at my home office working by 8:30 or 9 Some mornings all of this goes out the window, everyone gets an applesauce pouch and a pocket full of cheerios to eat on the bus, and I stare at my phone for an hour after they leave. |

6:30 wake up
6:30-7:25 drink coffee and “wake up” by scrolling the internet or reading, depending on my mood 7:25 wake DD for school, apply my makeup and get dressed while she is getting ready 8-8:05 drive DD to school, return home 8:05-9 do my hair, make beds, quickly tidy kitchen, maybe start a load of laundry or empty dishwasher, depending on the day, log on to work |
|
Most days I work out immediately after getting my kids off and then work from home, so my schedule is:
6:45 wake up, put on workout clothes, wash face and brush teeth, light makeup* 6:50 start coffee, read work-related news on my phone while coffee brews, 5 minute journal, check my calendar for the day 7:15 get kids up, have a quick snuggle 7:30 make lunches and hang out with my kids and husband while they eat breakfast 7:45 walk dog 8:00 make sure everyone has everything they need, pack up gym stuff 8:15 leave house |

I am an oldie. I am no longer taking care of anyone so things are very leisurely. I the first 40 minutes are very much my time, if I do not have to go anywhere.
Wake up at 6 am. Make my bed. Drink two cups of warm water with lemon. (I keep hot water in a thermos), take my pills. Drink my tea. Call my mom. Personal grooming, bathing etc. Do my prayers. I am done with most daily chores by noon (lunch, dinner, dishes, laundry, cleaning) and I nap for an hour at noon. |
|
WFH days: wake up at 5:15am, pray a full rosary either on the couch or get dressed and do it on a walk through the neighborhood, read a chapter of a book, turn on the local news, cook breakfast (usually an egg and chocolate milk or a homemade waffle and an egg, something small), lounge around and scroll until 7:45, then wash face brush teeth get dressed do hair, make the bed then fully jump into work
WOH days (2x a week): wake up at 5:15am, turn on the news, make small breakfast, hygiene, get dressed in the dark and leave the house by 6:10am and say my prayers in the car. Much shorter Lol! |
