How do you cook bacon?

Anonymous
I saw a hack to cook on the stove in a skillet in water, but never tried it.

We cook four lbs a week of thick cut bacon from Costco. We do it for 15-18 minutes a side at 375. We have a specific cookie sheet for this. It also sits on top of a cookie rack so it allows the fat to drip away which we save for other cooking.

Air fryer for the win.

10-11 minutes at 400 depending on thickness.

Best bacon ever.

That’s a lot of bacon

I rarely cook bacon because it is so horrible for the body. But, when I do, I fry it in my cast iron skillet.

Oven the way you do. It lets us cook a large amount and use the fat for other things.

Cookie sheet on parchment paper.

Hush your mouth with that unnecessary first sentence, which is a bunch of repugnant lies.

I sometimes up the heat to cook faster , but I use the oven. We are 5 in this house so if I cook it it’s the whole package. If it’s for 2 I would use a pan

That’s a lot of bacon! I’ve never tried cooking bacon in the oven because I’m afraid that it will spatter everywhere. Do you find that a problem?

NP but we do it the same way. Cookie sheet with cooling rack on top then bacon. It lets the grease drop through. Perfectly crispy.

We never had a splatter issue and it’s super easy clean up as compared to my cast iron.

You're supposed to cook bacon ????

I do a cookie sheet with a cooling rack on top. 400 for 15-20 min depending on the cut. It’s so easy and little to no mess.

Fry it in any skillet over medium heat, 2-3 minutes per side. I've done it in the oven and that's fine but it takes much longer.

My family of 5 eats about a pound of bacon per week, and sometimes I give it a break and get turkey sausages instead. Even if your family is huge, 4 lbs. per week is insane. It's really bad for you.

You can get pre-cooked bacon in a box, but most people buy it raw and fry it in a pan.

Same. I think for a little bit of bacon I like doing it in the skillet, but these days if I’m making it, it’s for four or more people and the oven is so easy.
