Teachers have been pretty much left alone. Parents are allowed to have opinions about how they teach on here, just like teachers have opinions about their students, students’ families, and admin (as evidenced on the teacher message boards). I think many parents are actually happy there’s a new principal upholding teachers to some higher standards now as many parents haven’t had the greatest experiences with some of the teachers at Navy. I can honestly say this year has been great for my child and I attribute that to some of the changes the new principal has made. |
One only needs to look as far back as 8/27/2023 (just 6 days into the school year) in of this 1000+ message post to know this guy didn’t stand a chance at this school. The amount of hate he has dealt with from the day he started is astonishing. We sat at our orientation the week before school even started to hear the teachers insert snide remarks throughout the entire presentation with regards to their new leader. You were able to speak to his character after just one week?
Then someone decided to send a very calculated email asking parents to speak out against the principal citing exaggerated safety concerns (now completely debunked). Certain parents called the police to the school then cried that the principal wasn’t transparent. Now when parents are asking staff or their reps for reasons why they are upset, it’s been crickets even after 1000+ posts. You can’t blame ppl for having opinions as to why ppl feel a certain way about him. We are a diverse community and most of us know what to think when “feelings” about someone from the start are not backed up with facts. |
+1 this is so brilliantly articulated. Thank you. |
For the parents that support the principal, what do you like about him? I’d love to hear some positives. I’ll start. He has been present at every single community event. He is exuberant. He has a great rapport with the kids. |
+1. I was in attendance at his last coffee. Not many were in attendance which was surprising to me given the email and negative chatter. I left scratching my head and thinking why all the hate against this guy? I'll give him props for sitting there and looking at us in the eye and going through all of the topics from the email going around. Not many would have done what he did and I gained respect for him for having done that. |
+1. We like him because our DC adores him. He engages our DC, asks inquisitive questions about various projects carried into school by our DC. For me it’s also the simple things like how on rainy days, he stands outside, helping as many kids as possible at KNR by holding umbrellas over their head. |
That’s awesome! I wish more had attended. I also was surprised by the low turnout. I guess the real “Keyboard Karens” didn’t have the balls to face him. |
He’s a great role model. He doesn’t drunk drive his car into someone’s house and then flee the scene. |
My child also thinks he’s the nicest friendliest coolest guy ever. Lol. Children truly are innocent and honest in their reactions. I care more about their feelings and opinions than anyone else. They know who’s genuine and kind. And they definitely know who’s not. |
+1 ouch! Lol |
LOL! You win the Internet. |
The communication this year from newsletters and emails has been fantastic. We even noticed there is actually better communication from our child’s teachers this year. |

This is so well written and articulately lays out the drama that has been going on for the past year. Unlike the other post that says, "Youre stupid. The end." |
