I do not see the majority of Virginians finding pro-life measures and outlawing abortion to be a priority and in fact most will find it too overreaching and indecent. They will not support this in the numbers you suggest, not at all.

I have lived in Virginia all my life all over the commonwealth. Virginians aren’t known to be extreme on either end. So this knee jerk reaction that Virginians are chomping at the bit and just waiting for Youngkin to get elected so abortion can be banned is offensive. First there would have to be a law on his desk to sign. I don’t think it will get to that point, not anytime soon.

So stop painting Virginians as extreme right pro life marching single issue voter crazy trains. We’re not.

The people insisting Youngkin would turn VA into Texas are obviously extremely insecure about this election (as they should be), and are trying to intimidate on-the-fence voters into voting for McAuliffe. Youngkin may be personally opposed to abortion (as are Biden and Tim Kaine, btw), but he is going to uphold all laws of VA.

They are desperate. They have a horrible candidate who doesn't relate to Virginians.

Please tell how your candidate relates to Virginians?

DP. Seriously? Glenn Youngkin is full of charisma and knows what many Virginians are concerned about. He is sincere when he speaks. All TMac can do is invoke "Trump!" No one's interested in what he's selling.

Youngkin is on video saying he wants to ban abortion completely. He had never denied that this is what he believes. Apparently you feel you have to lie about your candidate to make him electable.

Are you really this dense? As has been explained to you repeatedly by other posters, he can only sign or veto bills. The LEGISLATURE would have to actually write a law, banning abortion - and that is never going to happen. Youngkin is entitled to his personal views on abortion. Tim Kaine and Joe Biden are also personally OPPOSED to abortion, and have stated this publicly. That doesn't mean any of the would refuse to uphold the law. Stop spreading nonsense.

The D margin in the general assembly is slim and could flip. And I don’t really understand when people say that male politicians with wives past childbearing age have “personal” views on abortion. At this point the issue doesn’t affect them “personally” so why point that out at all? Meaningless.

So you’re 100% certain that the Republicans could never possibly retake control of the General Assembly? If they do, having an anti-abortion governor like a Youngkin in place makes it easy to effectively ban abortion in Virginia.

They sound like the hipsters in the coffee shop voting Trump.

As much as you, the Biden’s, Obama, Abrams, Harris, and random Dems try to make this election about Trump, it is about McAuliffe and Youngkin and what people in Virginia want.

Stop by a Virginia coffee shop today, and the only people talking about Trump will be the pink pussy cat hat boomers too old to evolve politically.

This. I can’t stand Trump (who is NOT ON THE BALLOT), but I’ll tell you what I can’t stand more: needing to waste money on private school because the navel gazing equity morons in charge can’t get out of their own way. Bye!!

Nothing wrong with bringing more equity into the schools. Were you always a racist or is this new behavior?

DP.
Equity? Nope.
Equality? Sure.

Equity: fairness or justice in the way people are treated

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/

DP. You’re opposed to notions of fairness and justice in schools? You’re really letting the racist flag fly here.

DP. Academic equity is the opposite of academic excellence.

I'd like to see excellence in schools.

In which schools?

Currently, inequalities and biases are creating additional hurdles for some kids and schools to achieve “excellence”.

Don’t you want ALL kids and schools to excel?

DP. Why don't you tell us which public schools you're referring to?

DP. Look at SOL scores for any school system in VA that isn’t all white and you’ll see what pp was talking about.

Exactly.

Does PP truly want to see excellence in ALL schools? Or just those in historically white areas?

It’s pretty clear pp wants excellence for white children, and wants the rest of them to know their place in the kitchen.

You know, the Youngkin model.

But you're not racist at all, nope, not you! Still waiting to hear how you would improve failing schools. Very curious what your plan would be.

Sorry to disappoint, but Youngkin's not an ahole at all. He hasn't screwed anyone over, nor has he ever been investigated for anything. McAuliffe however, has a history of doing both.

I take it you’re not familiar with how private equity works. Screwing people over is the foundation of the industry.

McAuliffe invested a lot of money in private equity funds; he just wasn’t trustworthy enough to manage one. Not surprising, since he would have had to disclose that he had been under investigation by the SEC for visa fraud at GreenTech Automotive.

Are you kidding? We are talking about the VA GOP legislators here. From 2012-2020, the VA Republicans forced women to get a vaginal probe and 24-hr waiting period before getting an abortion. This was happening up until LAST YEAR when the Ds took over.

And the 2021 Rs are even crazier than the 2012 Rs. Of course they will try to pull that Texas crap here.

Link to the bolded?

DP. I take it you don’t live in Virginia.

I do indeed live here. Still waiting for that link.

You seem confused about what racism is. Calling out racism is not racist. Seeking to maintain a system that perpetuates racial disparities by refusing to acknowledge or address the underlying causes of those disparities is racist.

Nope, nothing in there about a vaginal probe requirement from 2012-2020. Wrong.

DP. Transvaginal ultrasounds are beside the point now since Youngkin wants to ban abortion entirely.

So you don't know what private equity means. You've been fooled by the fancy name.

And don’t forget gay marriage, Glenn Youngkin would like to ban that too if SCOTUS gives him the opportunity.

Glenn Youngkin’s opposition to abortion rights isn’t a “deflection,” it’s a major issue in this election.
