Best nearby winery with kids?

And decent food options? For day trip?

Why should kids go to such an adult event? How old are they?

FFS leave your kids at home or find a more appropriate child-friendly activity. Have some respect for those who want to enjoy time at a winery without being subjected to other people's children. It is a winery, not Chuck E Cheese.

OP, no. Wineries aren’t for kids.

I don’t know about wineries but there are lots of family friendly breweries around like Lone Oak in MoCo

Stone tower has two sections, one allows kids and fortunately the other does not. You need to really think about what you’re exposing and normalizing your children too.

Not good for family

Do all the sanctimonious anti-winery people keep their children from restaurants where alcohol is served? I’ve been to a few MD/VA wineries over the years and it’s not like they’re booze feats. They’re typically pretty outdoor locations where people can try some wines as they might over dinner at a restaurant.

I stopped at Paradise Springs after we did the hike that's right there. It's got pizza and lots of outdoor areas. Honestly wasn't that different from walking to a restaurant.

I've been to a few that are definitely set up for kids to run around outside.

It seems like a bad combination watching their parents get sloshed.

If you can't tell the difference not sure what we can tell you. Anyone who calls other people who are making common sense comments "Sanctimonious" sounds like an alcoholic to me.

I've personally never gotten sloshed at a winery. You have to drive there. If I'm tasting I don't even drink the full pours.

So the one in Clifton, Bull Run, has cornhole food and some games for the kids.

Barrel oak has room to run around and food.

Paradise Springs..same as Barrel Oak.

Right?! Typically the wineries and breweries known as family-friendly also don’t attract the party bus crowd.

Vanish, Flying Ace, and Harvest Gap are breweries in Loudoun, but serve wine and cider, too. They all have play structures, room to run, and decent food. Vanish gets especially crowded on days like today. I have been many times to each and have never seen drunk parents and very few drunk adults, period. DH and I rarely drink, but these are great places to meet up with friends.

If you’re set on a winery, I think Bleu Frog in Leesburg is a gem. Doesn’t get crazy busy and it’s easy to sit off to the side to let your kids run. Last time they had a digging pile with trucks and a soccer field with balls, but it’s been a while. They do have a few food items, and you can bring your own. The breweries above don’t allow outside food.
