I don’t have a treadmill, bike, etc. , but want to do aerobic activities indoors this winter. Are there any online classes you recommend? I did Jazzercize 20 years ago, but don’t hear about that anymore.
If you have a favorite class on YouTube please share a link. |
I’m not a senior citizen, but I use Leslie Sansone’s indoor walking programs. They are in different mileage increments, some involve a little more intensity in bursts. Boring but effective for me. |
Two suggestions: This YouTube channel has a range of routines from 15-20 minutes to a full hour, at various levels of intensity: https://www.youtube.com/c/SeniorFitnessWithMeredith/videos
I like the variety of routines and that she doesn't yell at you. Another suggestion for higher-energy retro fun: there are a LOT of old Richard Simmons videos on YouTube. I love the Broadway ones. |
armchair aerobics - you can find these online
if you go to YouTube and type in "armchair aerobics for seniors" or similar you'll get several like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91ABO4utqkA This one is 30 mins but some are shorter, like 10 mins |
This guy is great! I haven’t exercised in well ever and he has good videos to get you into the routine .

My does a Silver Sneakers class via online. Pretty basic, slow paced, but just right for her.
She also has a chair aerobics class 3x/week - balance/strength, arms, etc. She really likes that one. Also online. |
Can someone explain chair aerobics to me? Is this a thing because of balance issues? Arthritis? Knee problems?
Why not exercise legs and feet? |
Not everybody can stand safely or without significant pain, or at all. Chair aerobics allow for cardio exercise without having to stand. |

Pahla B. You can watch on YouTube. You can also go to her website and view from there. |
On YouTube I like Paul Eugene and Leslie Sansone. There is also a mother daughter duo who's name I can't remember, but you can search and likely find them. |
