What do people think of Camilla?
If Charles dies before her does she lose her title? Or does she become the former Queen Consort? She is not mom to the Princes so she would not be the Queen Mom. Technically she could be the Queen Stepmom? |
| If Charles predeceases her she will be put out to pasture when William ascends the throne. She’s in her seventies already. |
| I assume she wont be speaking on any matters of substance publicly during King Charles reign either? |
|
At her age, she has no need to care. People have mixed feelings about them. He is a cheater but a devoted second husband. She is a home wrecker but committed and loyal lover.
|
But titles come with power and money. |
|
I think she’ll be the end of the monarchy and richly deserved. There was dead silence as she exited her car in front of the crowds and a few cheers for Charles.
|
| They seem happy together. Charles and Diana were doomed from the beginning. I have no ill will toward Camilla. |

Americans are funny
(at least those in this thread!!) |
| Charles II had at least 12 illegitimate children with multiple mistresses but no legitimate heir. |
Wouldn't it be kind of weird to applaud someone getting out of a car immediately after the death of their monarch mother? Not saying the monarchy is particularly strong, but also not sure you can read much into applause levels at this particular point in time. |
Except they did applaud Charles immediately after he got out of the car following Camilla? They just ignored her. |
|
Hate her.
Diana should be queen |
| I doubt it matters, not like Henry VIII didn't have a few new wives called queen, and the country supported it. |
| No one is going to pay them any more attention now than they ever did. They are boring and uneventful. All eyes will remain on W&K. |
Certainly there will be a lot of eyes on Charles and Camilla during his coronation. William will probably be an old man before he has a chance to be King. Hopefully I will live to see the reign of King George. (I think their should be limits to how long they reign. Charles should step down at 80 and William at 70, George would be 39 then.) |
