I wouldn’t say “totally worth” but it was interesting. Sad, mostly, that the GOP has taken fringe elements like Q and made them mainstream to their elected officials. GOP voters on here like to play at being moderate and common sense, but there’s nothing common sense about high ranking officials talking like absolute nutjobs. It’s sad also that Ginni Thomas and Clarence Thomas are free to wreak havoc. He has absolutely no business sitting on that court in judgment of anything when it appears that neither he nor his wife are capable of thinking clearly but were involved in an attempt to overthrow the government. Absolutely disgusting and horrifying and I hope the media doesn’t drop the ball on this as the GOP tries to shove us into a fascist state. |
From the CNN link above:
“January 5, 2021 2:30 p.m.: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to Mark Meadows Last night Sen Graham told me that if I found 100 names of dead voters in GA that he would object. I have 100 dead voters names!! 2:30 p.m.: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to Mark Meadows Tell President Trump! 2:30 p.m.: Mark Meadows to Rep. WH counsel will leave. 11:18 p.m.: Sean Hannity to Mark Meadows Sorry, I can't talk right now. 11:18 p.m.: Sean Hannity to Mark Meadows On with boss 11:27 p.m.: Rep. Jim Jordan to Mark Meadows On January 6, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, should call out all electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all -- in accordance with guidance from founding father Alexander Hamilton and judicial precedence. 'No legislative act,' wrote Alexander Hamilton in Federalist No. 78, 'contrary to the Constitution, can be valid.' 'The court in Hubbard v. Lowe reinforced this truth: ''That an unconstitutional statute is not a law at all is a proposition no longer open to discussion.' '226 F. 135, 137 (SDNY 1915), appeal dismissed, 242 U.S. 654 (1916). ' Following this rationale, an unconstitutionally appointed elector, like an unconstitutionally enacted statute, is no elector at all.” |
The texts on January 6 very much reflect CYA from several Republicans who understand how bad their coup looked. |
These people are legitimately psychotic.
Jan 6 2021: “ 10:01 p.m.: Jason Miller to Mark Meadows, Dan Scavino and Jared Kushner Chief, Jared, Dan - below please find an approved statement from the President to go out right as they're finalizing the votes, which we're expecting to be 3am, though with some Members caving it could happen earlier. Mrs. Trump has also signed off. Nobody but the four of us have heard this statement. Regarding logistics, this likely should come from the WH, but it has to be ready to go out as they're starting the final vote, and I'll background that a statement will be coming at the time of the vote. Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. Nevertheless, there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it's only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again.” |
Of course, the tactic of diversion is always in there in the GOP toolbox. Feb 23, 2021 - Congressional hearing on the insurrection took place. Horrifying information was shared. Look over to Fox News and see no mention of the Congressional hearings. Thank goodness for Fox that Tiger Woods had his accident that day, or Fox would have no news to report seeing as they ignored the Congressional hearings. |
from another thread:
A long time ago, I used to work with a guy who grew up in Nazi Germany. He described the early adherents to Naziism as "losers." German accent: "Deese were duh guys with not much going for demselves. Duh guys who wanted to feel important." Early on, most people thought they were kind of a joke, he said: "But it just kept going." |
“Former Trump White House official Peter Navarro has been indicted on two counts of criminal contempt of Congress after refusing to comply with a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, the Justice Department announced Friday.”
