Allegedly there are several options for the fall none of which include being back full time?

Sorry.

I absolutely agree with you. Unfortunately because FCPS already announced that they will be having DL and possibly only 2 days a week of in person school I don't think MCPS or DCPS will stray too far from that. I wish they would but I just don't think it will happen.

Make plans! We are stuck with this for at least two years until a vaccine or heard immunity. This virus will have reservoirs here and overseas. It will completely restructure our economy and globalization.

And you know this how? Nobody has any idea:
1. If there will be a second wave at all.
2. How long it will take to get a vaccine or if it will even happen at all. And then how effective it will actually be.
3. When and if they will find effective treatment.

But there is more and more evidence that this virus is actually getting weaker and people getting sick with it now versus 3 months ago seem to be recovering much quicker with less complications.

And since you are making predictions like you actually have any idea what you are talking about I'll make mine: no vaccine but virus dies out on its own in the next 6 months.

I don't think there is any evidence of your above statement -- cite, please?

Don't even bother asking for the citation because there is none. This is not true. None of it.

Where is the citation of the proof we are going to for sure have a second wave versus "predicted"? And where is the citation about it lasting for at least another two years (based on facts not "predictions").

LOL at you rioting. You're not a rioter.

You are pathetic. How do you know me? I hope I don't have to, but rest assured, you'll see me there if it comes to that.

We are all at risk. But as long as the medical community thinks that we can handle opening restaurants, beaches, bars, malls, parks, etc. I think we should be able to handle sending our kids to school.

Many of us that have been blessed to work from home all this time, but will need to be back to the office buildings in the next few months. We all need to learn to take precautions rather than just give up.

I do agree that we will probably be back in quarantine in November/December. Why? Because people refuse to take precautions. Every single day I see people without masks. As long as we have our neighbors and community continue to ignore the precautions, this will continue until most of us are infected (and many of us asymptomatic).

You recognize that these comparisons are not analogous, right. I am asking you to cite proof for something you assert has already happened - that the virus had mutated and is now weaker and people are getting less sick with fewer complications. There is no evidence for that.

By contrast you are asking for proof of “projections”, “predictions” and events in the future. No one can rove the future. You are free to make any assertions about the future you want. You can say the virus will disappear, mutate and weaken, whatevs - everyone understands you cannot predict the future.

The Italians say it's getting weaker. Not verified, though.

I will riot too. Plenty of people will, in case schools don't open.

This. I strongly want schools to be open 100% in-person, but if FCPS and DCPS are doing 2 days/week, there's no way MCPS is going to be a trailblazer and offer 5 days/week. It's just not in the MCPS DNA to innovate.

Heck, when things first shut down and they had free lunch distribution sites, they had only 20 and none in upcounty (Damascus) nor in Bethesda/Potomac. Meanwhile, Anne Arundel, with a smaller school system, had 40+ distribution sites including mobile locations like the parking lot of community centers.

MCPS finally caught up to Anne Arundel a few weeks later, and they now offer 40+ sites, including one in Damascus.

Just being realistic here -- start planning _now_ that your kids will be in school at most 2 days/week this fall, and maybe through the spring too. Even if we have a vaccine ready in a few months, it will take at least 6 months to vaccinate 330 million people.
