I am the Walz-head and I am happy with Beshear

Honestly I'm just so thrilled to see our whole stable of talented Dems out there doing their thing!

Just realized I was, like, Amy Klobuchar's most ardent supporter in 2020 before I turned to Biden. Maybe I have a thing for Minnesotans.

None of us knows what’s happening with the chemistry piece. Huge unknown.

He looks like every young dad on the golf course on Saturday morning and she looks like an Instagram mom. These are prime suburban and exurban voters who culturally trend toward Trump based on their peer group's inclinations but are swayable.

Not the worst choice. He also looks young, so he makes Harris look a bit more senior and wizened.

Why Beshear? I thought Walz or Kelly would be the better pick.

Because Beshear is well liked in Kentucky, an ultra red state. He’s appealing to the every man and he’s young. He is well spoken and a good guy who cares about his community. He has led Kentucky well. He also won’t be leaving a spot open for some lunatic to take in a toss up state.

He's also a great counterpoint to Vance.

He’s seen as relatively weak on reproductive nights, and he is the least experienced option. I thought the plan was to lean into the “ready on day 1” argument. Ugh. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna163974

+1 DH was convinced they’d go with young. I thought going with depth of experience would shore up the ticket more effectively. Given Harris’s own experience is under attack. Not thrilled if this is true.

Ahhhh just saw that KY Lt. Govenor is also a Democrat and a woman born in 1980 who was elected in 2023 with Beshear: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacqueline_Coleman

So not only does a Dem get to lead the state for another 3 years, but she is well-positioned for reelection in 2027 without a primary fight. This is a very good move for the Democratic bench in the South.

POTUS sets the agenda and tone, not the VP. So what he thinks about abortion doesn't really matter when push comes to shove. POTUS is The Decider.

What great experience does Vance have?

Beshear isn’t the best person to make the argument is the point.

She’s also “personally pro-life.”
