| It’s going to be really funny when Montgomery County is an impoverished mess 4 years from now. |
Hope he has buyers remorse. Buying an election is immoral. Glad Elrich won. |
|
It just underscores how stupid this county is.
Have fun with the tax increase and service cuts coming your way. |
Except... There haven't been tax increases MoCo kept its AAA bond rating and every time a service ISN'T cut or a new one is introduce, y'all complain about "too much government spending." |
| ? ok, Bloomberg spent a lot, too, on a national level. It means they are less likely to be bought by special interests. They are already rich. They don't need developer's money. |
Hahahaha that's hilarious if you think that Elrich is more beholden to developer money than Blair. |
In 2022. Election year. Subsequent years may be different. |
Elrich proposed a property tax increase with a special designation for school spending in FY21. Then covid hit and tax revenues plummeted. He refused to realign his proposed budget. Council did it for him and voted down the tax increase. This year’s budget was built on unsustainable one-time federal covid relief funding. It won’t exist for next year and he must increase taxes or cut services. There are no other options. |
It also raises questions about what they want in return for their purchases— and how / if this benefits the people who are supposed to be their constituents. |
Or maybe it underscores how deluded and full of baloney Blair and his supporters are? |
Enjoy giving $18 million a year to a Green Bank for no reason. |
| That's the main reason I didn't vote for Blair. Anyone spending that much of their own money on a county executive election has plans the vast majority of us aren't going to benefit from and aren't going to be consulted on. |
The joke is Elrich should have won by more..If people are so happy why did he almost lose? Montgomery county is very heavy democratic. Sure, David Blair spent all that money but, that means he has way more to spend. |
You know it was the democrat primary, right? They were both Democrats (well one is and the other one was a repub mole) |
