David Blair spent $6.55 million on his own campaign. Plus $2M+ in independent expenditures.

maybe he doesn't miss the money

Remember, Elrich only eeked out a win. Won by a much smaller margin than last time, which was already small.

This should tell you that more and more people did not want Elrich.

It tells you Blair tried to buy off the election, and even republicans registering as Democrats couldn't elect him.

I don't have anything personally against Blair, it's just that buying the election wasn't a good look. I want more business development, but not just from one person's cronies or for the benefit of his inner circle. That's why trying to buy the election worried me.

Probably not. He probably thought he was investing for the good of the county.

Unless Elrich does a 180 somehow, we are doomed.

Total long shot -- but vote Sully.

Hell would freeze over before I ever vote for a Republican.

FOP didn’t endorse him. But endorsed Sullivan instead.

Well then, you will get the government you deserve.

I'd vote for a moderate, sane, neverTrumper R, but never the MAGA type.

The problem is politics is a terrible occupation to get into. No one wants to run.

Actually Elrich got more votes this time around. The reason it was so close it's because of all the republicans who switched and voted for Blair.

There are people who switched parties, but there is no data to show the magnitude of that switch . If you look strictly at total registrations, the Dems gained about 2,000 for this primary but unaffiliated gained about 15,000. We don’t know, without out more data, whether this had an impact.

Do you think there's a chance we'd elect Sully? I know plenty of people who really hate Elrich and I couldn't imagine them voting for him, but they probably would just not vote. It's going to be a huge Democratic year for Maryland while people vote against Cox and Peroutka, so there'd have to be a hell of a lot of ticket splitting.

But then Elrich in 2018 beat Ficker and Floreen combined by a huge margin. This would suggest that people, at least 60%, will just vote straight D as usual.

Does he have a R next to his name? If so he is a persona non grata in MoCo.

The joke is Elrich should have won by more..If people are so happy why did he almost lose? Montgomery county is very heavy democratic. Sure, David Blair spent all that money but, that means he has way more to spend.

You know it was the democrat primary, right? They were both Democrats (well one is and the other one was a repub mole)[/quote

DUH I know. But he should have done better since he is the more liberal..get it now?

Doesn't matter. The result is that Elrich is not as popular as his supporters think he is.
