Considering starting IF, but I don’t want my kids to see me not eating until a late lunch time on the weekends. Has anyone had success losing weight using IF (combined with low-carb) just during the work week? |
sure it is all about the calorie deficit. just don't overeat on the weekends. One thing to keep in mind that IF works by leveraging not being hungry in the morning, if you eat breakfast on the weekends you might not get into a good groove with appetite staying down in the morning so Mondays might be tougher. |
I do OMAD (basically 23:1 IF) M-F and then eat regular meals with my family on weekends or vacations.
This works for me b/c I want my family to see me eating healthy meals and I don't like having several small meals--I never feel satisfied that way and I feel like I'm always hungry. It also means I can take a nap on my lunch break (or a walk, or run an errand) instead of worrying about lunch. If there's a work lunch or a happy hour during the week, I don't beat myself up, I just start fresh the next day. I've lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks. |
I do this. I don’t go overboard during the weekends, but I eat more regular meals with my family. It works well. |
On weekends eat a low carb breakfast like scrambled eggs or an omelet. If you go out to brunch then everyone orders their own thing.
For lunches or dinner I always make something with a choice of bases. One base is always greens / salad and the rest will be rice, a wrap, tortilla, pasta or rice. Sometimes I put out three choices. Everyone takes a different combination of bases but very one eats the protein and veggies. |
Yup! Before Covid I did this ALL the time. Ate fairly normally on the weekends, but IF on weekdays. It was very effective. |
I did this and for the same reason. Worked well for me, OP. Trying to get back to it but I keep forgetting! |
