This question just kind of came to me, and I thought I'd ask the crowd. I see a fair amount of discussion around here about what we want in a significant other, but I wonder what we want in ourselves. I happen to think I'm plenty smart but just kind of average looks wise and, so, the temptation would be to want to be better looking. But, I think it's fairly universal in our society to over-estimate one's own intelligence and to under-estimate one's own appearance. Also, as a culture, I think we tend to glorify appearance more directly than we glorify intelligence.
More attractive. I'm already very intelligent and fairly cute that can polish up to beautiful with the right effort. It'd be nice to get the "beautiful woman" treatment I remember from my 20s back, without having to put in time/work.
Intelligence as long as that correlated to increased income which makes being more attractive easier.
More attractive. I am highly intelligent, but have lost much of my youthful good looks.
Can i choose to be more charismatic?
This. I was an 8. Now I’m a 4 at best. Seriously have not she’d well at all. Generally I’d choose intelligence over looks though. It’s just that I have plenty of the former and none of the latter. |
I'm smart but have severe learning disabilities. I'm also ugly. If I could be smarter in a way that let me overcome the LDs, then I could earn more and be able to afford plastic surgery!
But you can fix "ugly" with a huge makeover, maybe even plastic surgery. Harder to fix "stupid". |
Attractive, intelligence has been useful but honestly not THAT useful.
I get to keep my current level of intelligence? More attractive, no question.
I think ignorance really is bliss. Give me better looks any day. |
I am intelligent enough already. I actually think in many situations, being intelligent makes life more difficult. I'd choose being more attractive.
Attractive. I’m pretty intelligent but fairly…”unphotogenic,” let’s euphemistically say!
More attractive for sure since I'm already more intelligent than the majority of people I know. That can actually be difficult sometimes, I don't want to make it any worse.
Looks, definitely. Especially if I could guarantee that I would age well.
