Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch would have voted to grant the request. Chief Justice Roberts, Justices Barrett and Kavanaugh join the liberals. |

Don't get too excited. This is only about the stay. We'll see what happens on the merits. |
Won’t be a different vote. |
well if it was a flagrant constitutional violation they wouldn't have allowed the class to be seated now would they? I'd say this decision is pretty indicative of the likely outcome on the merits. |
+1 Won’t stop her from spewing vile on FoxNews though. |
It's possible that the admissions process may be different by then. No way of knowing what will happen for Class of 2027 with a new superintendent coming in. Wouldn't be surprised at all if the admissions office and the school get together with a year of data on the new group and see what, if any, additional inputs to the system would make sense. SCOTUS may not even grant certiorari to this case when it comes around. |
Agreed, the new superintendent should change the admissions process before the Supreme Court gets a chance to rule on it. Tying your legacy to Brabrand’s mess is not a smart move. |
| Does it mean results will be out on Friday? |
| Supreme Court supporting Racist policies is not the first time. |

This also means another year of already crowded high schools like Chantilly, McLean, and Oakton having larger freshmen classes, as their feeder middle schools send fewer kids to TJ, and FCPS twiddling their thumbs about it.
It would be great if the left hand of FCPS ever figured out what the right hand was doing. |
huh? you're worried about overcrowding because of TJ? make it make sense |
How is ensuring a level playing field racist? |
No matter what the new super does some people won't be happy. |
