Yeah, no. You have some issues you need to work through.

No, I don’t. I’m just very in tune to how many “pervs” are in the world. Look up stats on NATIONAL CENTER FOR MISSING AND EXPLOITED CHILDREN.

And you think a one piece bathing suit is protection?

No, I didn’t.

+1. Actually covering non-existent breasts in a young child is what is sexualizing.

Do you put your daughters in one pieces and your sons in board shorts? Because you are covering up non-existent breasts arbitrarily if you are.

There are actual art exhibits dedicated to showing what women were wearing when they were assaulted, and it is all kinds of clothes. A predator is a predator and they are not moved by the sartorial choices of children or women.

You really need to reexaming your ingrained misogyny as you approach puberty with your teen daughter. You are about to instill some really damaging and self esteem hurting things that will perhaps make her MORE vulnerable to being a victim of a man trying to use her. And make her less likely to report something if it did happen to her because you will have implied that it was somehow her fault.

There are many two piece bathing suits that are appropriate for young girls, and many reasons to not choose them. Frankly I prefer the rash guards for the sun. But what I do, is give my daughter choices and she decides what to wear. She has a one piece, she has some two pieces, she has a rash guard, and she decides how she feels about her clothes that day. And she's 5.

You are at an age where your daughter is going to start to rebel, and you want to teach her to be confident enough in herself that she makes good choices even when not under your (very) watchful eye. Trusting her and allowing her to express herself in safe contained situations like this is a good first step.

Eh, "pervs" don't care if girls have on one piece or two. The best thing for that is not to post any pics of your kids on social media.

Go ahead and get her two piece. It's fine. Just don't throw all sorts of pics up on social media.

Between 18 and 25 and then never again.

Cute.

Pass.

Yea, the last 2 are trying to make it look like there are boobs where no boobs exist. That's odd for a child, just like if boy's swim trunks tried to make it look like a 7 year old is packin'.

Can you read? The last two are inappropriate.

Yup, I can read. PP wrote "pass" over those two. I was agreeing they are awful and pass-worthy, and explaining why I thought so. Not sure why you think I was condoning them.

OP start by teaching your daughter that you are an idiot and buy her a two-piece.

And if she wants a teeny, weeny, little polka-dot bikini when she is 16 buy that too.

Teach her she is comfortable in her own skin.

And you need to grow up and parent better.

OMG another female letting men decide what they wear. Shame on you.

You have got to be kidding.

Your poor children.

Just looked them up. Highest risk factor for being abducted is being in state care (80% of abductions). Another huge percentage are abducted by a family member. Outside of those, attempted abductions occur most frequently while children are traveling to and from school, or while playing or riding bikes outside. Saw nothing about 2-pieces.

Agreed. What exactly are they covering up? Oh right, nothing.

I have my 5yo b/g twins wear rash guards. So much easier than covering them in sunscreen.

It sure sounded like you thought PP was saying those were fine and you were telling him, no, they were bad.
