How did it fall apart?

SYC announced they got full MLSNext so their top boys will do that and won't going to ECNL. So now on both the boys and girls sides, pretty much no one from SYC is going to join Virginia Union. Just going to cause inconvenience to the parents having to drive down to Springfield.

MLS allows players from other clubs to play in one team. They are called part time players. Currently, not all MLS Next players in their teams are from SYC. Not all boys will make MLS, the rest will be dump to ECNL.

Such an inconvenience to have parents drive up to McLean.

Doesnt MLS next teams also fall under Virginia Union FC umbrella? Will same boys be dual rostered for ECNL and MLS next?

No, want to tryout for MSL Next? Register with SYC.

I don't see a lot of dual happening given all the travel time.

The Question is, does McLean still have to wear those horrendous uniforms for a couple of players SYC will throw their way?

Anyone know what the coaching situation is with the boys? MLS Next and ECNL? A bunch of SYC coaches were going to help with ECNL. Who is going to stay and coach the MLS Next teams? My DS is not going to ECNL when he can stay at SYC and play in a more competitive league and I can have a 10 minute drive rather than a one hour one!

What a disaster for McLean!

the ECNL slot still belongs to them. If this goes bad, it's the SYC girls who will be outside looking in- SYC boys have MLSnext, McLean has ECNL, SYC girls have...

McLean boys will still have to commute to Springfield for practices and I expect the best fields and best practice slots will go to SYC's MLS Next teams!

What is the plan for the large ECNL rosters? We are hearing up to 30!

You’ve heard correctly. McLean (or what will be VUFC) plans on rosters of 30, half being dual-rostered players who will mostly play EDP and an occasional ECNL game.... go to VUFC, pay for ECNL, but get EDP. This was the case with their 06 boys team this year, but they’ll expand it to all teams next year.

Ok that's what I figured...did you hear this from Clyde or another reputable source??

Direct from McLean parent meeting with TD, Assistant TD and head coach in attendance. Also announced during a digital town hall last month.

Not nonsense. 2008 and 2007 roster 20-22 with 8-10 duel roster players. They duel roster players will be evenly divided between SYC and McLean so not to impact the second teams at those clubs too much with the addition of these 4-5 players. The 2007 team will roster around 22 as well but may go a few higher. There are Hendon players that are coming over and are Discovery Players. I'm not sure if these are considered in the duel roster pot or the ECNL pot
