I guess I don’t understand why ppl are so upset? It’s still April 6. If they are mailed, we might get it in a couple days. I’ll be upset if we don’t hear by end of this week. But what does it matter in the big scheme of things?

I'm the poster who asked earlier if everyone here wanted to move to a center, because otherwise I don't understand why anyone would be so riled up to complain that an email hasn't gone out before noon.

I'm waiting for an answer and curious, but also don't feel like we have much riding on this either way, since my kid will stay at base school.

Because we are already pissed off with FCPS in general. And it feels good to complain.

How about some AAP Fan Fiction??

“Special Delivery”

All week, I had been waiting to see if my son got into AAP in FCPS, one of the most competitive districts in the country... Over that, I had no idea how that delivery would come! Would it be via email? What if it went to junk mail? What if they sent it to the wrong email? Did they HAVE my email?? Or...or...What if they sent it in REGULAR mail? Just as I was pondering this while brushing my long flowing hair in the mirror, the door bell rang. I went to open it, and my mouth suddenly hung open. There in front of me was a delivery man who looked like a very young John Stamos in a brown delivery uniform. Instead of UPS, however, his shirt had the badge “FCPS.”

“Special Delivery, Ma’am. I have brought your child’s AAP notification right to your door.” I grabbed the letter and tore it open it with anticipation. OMG! OMG! OMG! He got IN!!!!!! I grabbed the delivery man in a tight hug! I was SOOOO ecstatic! He looked into my eyes and I into his....but HOW would I celebrate...?

TBC. (I am SO glad this board is anonymous.. Feel free to add to the story. )

No, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. But this is the digital age. It takes seconds to post a communication letting people know the method of notification. It is the least they can do. It takes seconds to send a FCPS email saying this is when emails or mail is going out. I just don't see why they struggle with such basic communication.

What is their deal? The committee has already met and decided. Why can’t they send an email?

Now they're distracted by deciding which kids are going to get to come in for 4 days/week this year.

Young John Stamos looked deeply in her eyes and said of course I’d love to celebrate with you but you understand I have to say the same thing to you I said to my first two acceptance deliveries today, I’ve got more acceptances to deliver before I call it a day. But after these last two acceptances maybe FCPS will allow me to do something online .... but probably you’ll have to just go asynchronous

I can say with a high level of confidence that decisions (by mail) will be posted today and will not arrive until later this week. Not sure about email notifications.

I spoke with someone within FCPS. Someone else posted about a hybrid notification process yesterday. The person I talked to more or less confirmed this.

The post about hybrid was a joke. I don't think I could handle the layers of satire if it turned out to be both a joke and completely accurate.

OK--please. Does anyone know how we're going to find out?
