| I’m not a Jew! |
| There’s a lot less smoking in the 3rd season! |
Maybe you are just a little bit Jew-ish and don't know it? Besides if you watch it you will know why so many people who are not Jews love it. Jus as you don't need to be a French to watch French movie or Japanese to enjoy one. Go for it. |
Let's hope in the fourth it will be even less and by fifth no more.. |
Go figure... Many Hasidic Jews smoke, and many who do not smoke regularly will smoke on the holiday of Purim, even if they do not do so any other time of the year, and some consider it to be a spiritual practice, similar to the smoke of the altar in the ancient Temple. However, many Hasidic Rabbis oppose smoking. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoking_in_Jewish_law#:~:text=Many%20Hasidic%20Jews%20smoke%2C%20and,many%20Hasidic%20Rabbis%20oppose%20smoking. |
Me neither, I'm not Jewish but I really like the 1st season. I am looking forward to the next two! Prior to this, I only knew a little about the Jewish Culture but enjoyed books like Kaaterskill Falls and Red Tent. |
| Posting here because I don’t want any spoilers. I’m on episode 10 of season 2. I don’t understand what the uncle was in debt for. I couldn’t understand what happened. |
You have to give us more context here. Many of us are done now with Season 3, and season 2 was a long time ago. Are you talking about red-headed thin brother of the main patriarch (played by Dov somebody); the brothers in their 70s? (Akiva's dad's brother?). If so, anyone remember? |
I think you mean Nuchem and they don’t say specifically. He’s just a shady character. |
Yes, that’s right. He had a video call with someone who explained how much and why he owed money and I couldn’t decipher why. |
