DC Public and Public Charter Schools
Ok, WTU troll. Don't you have anything better to do? Also, accusing parents of being "whiny" and "self-absorbed" because their kids haven't been to school for a year is just bizarre. Don't you care at all about the welfare of children? Maybe the real problem here is teachers refuse to do their jobs, even while collecting their entire paychecks and even when seemingly every doctor in the United States thinks its crazy that schools are still closed. |

| Our charter admin said they were hearing hybrid from osse for fall. Obviously things can change but they are planning for hybrid. |
|
Yeah I love the charter admins telling anyone anything about DCPS. I had a friend call me telling me 2,000 things about my ES and none were true. Her source a LAMB Admin |
This will 100% depend on the 6 foot rule. If it doesn't change, there's no choice but hybrid. |
Time to recall Mayor Bowser |

A quarter of DC taxpayers contribute 80% of income taxes.

Charters follow OSSE. So OSSE saying something will carry to charters and DCPS. |
Why is opening schools catering to white people? Why is educating children catering to white people? Why is caring about my own children’s education whining? This is some bullshit. |
Our charter was very clear as well that their reopening options depended on OSSE updating the guidelines. I really think their hands are tied if OSSE sticks with 6ft. |
Like I said the amount of times Charter Admins have said what will happen at DCPS is right never so I will wait until OSSE says something official. |
Schools live off the taxes paid by rich people and rich people are the most likely to leave if DC makes it is impossible for their kids to get a decent education here |
You do know that charter schools are public schools yes?

| The actually really rich people in DC already send their children to expensive private schools. Surveys show that the lower-income people don't want to send their students in person. So this issue largely affects the middle class and upper middle class people. Do those people have any political clout, do their tax dollars matter? I'm not sure, but there does seem to be a tipping point, especially now that people cannot responsibly call those in favor of open schools "teacher killers" since teachers (unlike most parents) have access currently to the highly effective vaccines. |
