DP. Why pity bigots? Maybe they are happier that way. |
I was referencing the idea of women exposing themselves as a source of sexual gratification. That is a far less common scenario than the reverse. |
I’m a feminist. I don’t care who peers where. W |
DP. Can you please clarify what portion on pp’s statement that you find to be bigoted? |
So you agree that I should be concerned about a naked man ogling my 10 yo son for sexual gratification? |
Women can be sexual predators, and deliberately exposing your genitalia to children for sexual purposes is wrong no matter what kind of genitalia you have. |
Sure. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make? |
Then it sounds like communal changing rooms are dangerous anyway and we should do away with them for everyone's safety. |

A woman sitting on a bench with her legs spread wide apart staring intently at my naked child is going to be disturbing whether I can see visible evidence of her sexual arousal or not. If you would be okay with that around your children, I think that's deeply disturbing. |
Happy people don’t devote so much energy to hating and oppressing people. But it can provide some temporary relief for bigots’ own self-loathing. |
Happy people do whatever makes them happy. Happy people also think you are funny when you tell them they are unhappy. I know this because I am happy and I don't care if you call me a bigot. |
This just in!!
You can love and respect someone, and want them to have dignity and safety, but doing so doesn’t mean having to give them everything they want, or that it is a good thing for everyone to have what they want, at all times. Also: Even though someone does not agree with everything you believe, that does not make them hateful or a bigot. The major problem I see is the definition of “woman” being changed and erased. I also don’t think it is a coincidence that every person I know who wants transwomen competing in women’s sports has never played a sport themselves. It’s easy to tell other people what to do when you have no skin in the game and never have. Is it not telling that the people who tend to be the most vocal and act so entitled about these things are transwomen and not transmen? Is it just coincidence that men, particularly white men, are accustomed to being heard and getting their way? Is it just a coincidence that a much higher percentage of transwomen identify as “lesbian” than typically found among cis women? |
Nobody has mentioned prisons yet. Under this new bill, men identifying as women can demand to be sent to women’s prison. Here in California, it is already happening and rape has been up as a result. |
All of the arguments about sports are clearly fearmongering. Renee Richards played women's tennis over 40 years ago, with some success. Did that lead to a surge in men "pretending" to be transgender women in order to win tennis tournaments? Of course not. Yes, there are likely to be a more transgender women athletes at various levels as transgender people become more accepted in society, but there will never be a large number. The idea that men or boys will "fake" being transgender in order to win trophies is ridiculous. |
