Can we talk about the equality act?

Can we please go back to the topic? The lack of response makes me think a lot of people don’t have enough understanding about this.

Because trans women are women, they should play women’s sports. Basic human rights here. Not much to debate. Sorry not sorry.

And no, gender discrimination doesn't protect LGBTQ-based discrimination. They are not refusing to hire a "woman" - they are refusing to hire a "gay woman." And that should be illegal by law.

That's the whole point. It's not gender-based.

Yep. I was wondering when this would happen, plant this thread and start some bigotry against trans-persons and bathrooms.

Sirry, I should have done that in the original post. https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/5" target="_new" rel="nofollow"> https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/5

Here’s one of the multiple reports on the issue about trans in sports. [url]https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/trans-women-retain-athletic-edge-after-year-hormone-therapy-study-n1252764

Under the equality act, all they have to do is self identify as a woman.

These are the unintended consequences of having voted Biden into office.

The Woke has spoke!

Good luck getting sports' scholarships for your girls

OP here. Your comments bring nothing to this discussion.

I have two daughters who play sports. One (my high schooler) even plays on a tennis team and regularly plays against boy players. I am not concerned one iota about her losing out on a scholarship to a boy.

I am also not concerned in the least bit about being going to a public restroom and being attacked by a trans woman. I also am not concerned about my daughters going to a public restroom and being attacked by a transwoman.

What they should do is go back and look at the documents and testimony of the people who fought for women's rights in the first place.

Were they saying they wanted their own sports leagues so the women could get together afterwards and discuss hair and makeup and do some crafting? Or were they fighting for (and awarded) their own sports leagues so they weren't competing against people with a biological advantage over them as an athlete?

If the former then maybe we should open women's competitions to any men that want to discuss hair and makeup and crafting. If the latter then allowing biological men to compete in women's competitions in the name of equality is completely stupid.

Really, she plays in a singles tennis against boy players in her official High School competition? Can you give more details?

I wish those in favor of trans women playing girls sports would address the science discussed in this article.
