Dr. Oz was hands-down the worst guest host. Aaron Rodgers and Bill Whittaker weren't great either. Richards was capable, and obviously there is more to the job than what TV viewers see.

Sure, like having friends in the right places.

Lena Dunham
Busy Phillips
Meghan McCain
Megyn Kelly
Candace Owens

OMG - Lena Dunham is the worst. Hands down winner in annoying person contest.

Rodgers did a significantly better job at pacing and contestant interaction than Richards. People may hate him for moronic, sportsball (/s, as it’s clearly necessary to specify that) reasons, but those impressions sure aren’t based on the guest hosting either did.

Disagree. I thought Rodgers was pretty stiff and awkward with the contestants, unless football was the topic.

I wonder which guest hosts got the best ratings. Anyone know?

Telling they haven't been transparent with any of this info.

It’s possible they offered the job to another guest host first and that person turned it down. Not sure why people assume everyone wanted the permanent gig. Or maybe other guests hosts demanded too much money for the job. You shouldn’t get Trebek cash year one.

The whole thing was rigged. He had this job in the bag and they lied to the audience that this was an audition. It was really just a scam to make the audience forget Alex and then put in this egomaniac shyster.

Sure, Jan.

I'm assuming the gig pays $10M+ a year if not way more than that? Most people become ethically fluid when that much money is on the line...

Possible he was already chosen and yes I agree it helps people move on from Alex. But I don’t recall hearing these guests hosts were auditions. Zero chance a newscaster would take the permanent position. I think most of them love Jeopardy and we’re thrilled to guest host, but wanted nothing beyond that.

Doubt they are paying the exec producer that much to host. I actually think it’s nice he is unknown and fades into the background, letting the guests shine. All we’ve heard about since Alex died are the guests hosts. I’d like to hear more about the contestants and a big name host prevents that.

Not true. Drew Carey has done a great job.
