| Parents who want to resign en masse - please start a petition. Some marches would be good to. It'd be great to put some faces and names to these idiotic rants. |
I am in a district where the teachers are happy to be in the classroom teaching. And are doing so with great success and no Covid. They are caring professionals unlike you, loser. |
So umm...why are you here? |
|
Guys the last page of "teacher" posts is likely one overreacting teacher or a troll. Teachers themselves care deeply for their students and their current suffering. They are stuck right now on 1) fear of the unknown and 2) thinking that all their hard work on DL will surely pay off (it won't). Even this arguing teacher likely does even as she plays provocateur.
Life will force their hand. This can't go on. They will be back in the classroom next year or on leave. |
I want to preface my statement by saying that I am glad the drug companies are working on finding a vaccine. But, wow, what parents are putting their kids into these trials? It seems so mind bogglingly unsafe to me. I want a vaccine but I want a little more work and testing with animals first. |
Actually, I don't think so. Even if the states begin fast-tracking applicants and lowering their standards, I don't think the states will be able to meet the need for teachers. Too many teachers are getting fed up by the constant attacking mode that they see on social media. |
How is the relationship with the parents of your students. Good right? Social media isn't real life and if you make decisions based on that you are have long hard road ahead of you. Your own parents probably post here in frustration, but they support you. Deal with the relationships that are real, and yes, plan to be back next fall or on leave even though numbers will be the same as now. You will have a vaccine that is 50% effective to take. And some plasma remedies if you get sick. It will be fine. If teachers look like they won't come back, I predict 3 month teacher provisional certification programs will prop up. I LOVE my kids teachers, but would take a brand new completely undertrained in person teacher over a fabulous dl teacher any day. At least until grade 4 or 5 a bad teacher in the classroom is better than a good teacher onlibe. |
Parents are really embarrassing themselves here. Concerning that you are raising children and are so disrespectful and immature. |

I am completely repulsed by the teachers responding to this thread. Can you not see how you are turning the entire country against you? You have lost any respect you may have previously had.
We are currently looking to move our kids to private as soon as possible, and will not look back. |
Actually some of us are parents. Teachers have no say in if they go back or not. I think you are a bigger disappointment as a parent who doesn't want to support or take care of their kids during the day and insists its the school's job. Move to private... enjoy. |
It’s a private school. |
That sounds miserable. |
I have two guesses: 1) certain foster parents 2) bleeding hearts, kind of like people who enroll their kids into GS2 schools for equity reasons |
It will be much more miserable in public schools |
