And yet it's still up to the states and the individual counties because that's how our government is set up. |
This reopened in late May/early June...did you want schools to reopen first at the end of the school year? That makes no sense. |
Which again is why it was left up to the states and individual counties. |
Yeah. It's pretty rich to see the endless shouting and hand wringing about bars / gyms etc opening before little Larla went back to kindy from people who are able to work remotely. Try really hard to think past the initial fixation on people getting their nails done/going out for a drink. |
We should have subsidized individuals instead of big companies (like cruise lines not even registered in the US) when they had jobs that could not be done remotely and were not necessary. But no, we gave a ton of money to big companies and let people suffer. Other countries sent their citizens money to get through the hard time and they are doing fine and have school now. |
I clicked on your Link now it's saying that educators would be getting it in phase two. |
Yup. How will your kids compare to the states that are open, or the private school kids? I’m shocked you’re all taking this. |
Most lower income families are making it work. Those that are generally complaining are living in $800K plus houses, nicer cars, travel and didn't plan child care into their budget. Those struggling are able to get child care vouchers. Its the over spenders that have the issue. We are fine with it. |
Wait, what? ![]() Not everyone can work remotely! I cannot, nor can my dh (someone delivers your mail daily, right? there ya go). I'm not lower income, but if my mom didn't live near us-I literally have no idea what we would have done, although it was a risk to my mom too (over 70). Thankfully my dcs are back in person school, but I know many lower income families that are in a world of trouble. Usually, the mom has quit work and they are sliding into financial ruin. |
Follow the money. When the CARES act stops handing out money, in this case to public schools, then action will be taken. |
