Actually, not true. You are legally entitled to quiet enjoyment of your own property. If your neighbor is doing something that is harming, disturbing etc, t[b]hen you can force them to stop doing so. Especially if it was illegal like doing drugs publicly.

It is actually illegal for you to sit on your front porch and drink wine in DC. Your front porch is considered public. I remember people getting fined 15-20 years ago and people being surprised. I don't think they ever changed the law.

NP. But that's just it - you can't force them to do anything. That's the problem. You can try to have a conversation with them or get the property manager or owner involved if it's a rental unit, but if the behavior continues, you have little recourse short of a lawsuit. Or you move.

From my conversation with attorneys, you could take them to court or threaten to. You can force them to stop what they are doing that is not allowing you to enjoy your property. But have never done it, and it would be a last recourse...

That's the point. Your only real recourse is a civil lawsuit which is expensive and time-consuming, not to mention unpredictable. And if the judge does rule in your favor but the neighbors continue their behavior, you'd likely have to go back to court to enforce the order. By that time, the relationship has likely deteriorated so much that you might as well move anyway.

Because we “libs” are smart enough to know that MJ smoke isn’t harmful or dangerous like cigarette or cigar smoke is. It’s actually beneficial, and can even prevent covid transmission the same way the smoke from burning sage can.

That's way too young to start. Young brains learn to need that buzz, and when they develop a tolerance for pot, move on to harder things. I should know: I also started at 13, way back in the 70s when pot was 10x less potent.

For some -- not all -- it leads to a downward spiral. Some of "cool" pals from Chevy Chase ended up pretty successful despite it all; others ended up dead or in jail or as substance abuse counselors. Or as 55 year old landscapers.
