One in Five Teachers Say They Won’t Return to School in the Fall

Anonymous
Ultimately, especially with the rising number of cases, I think a lot of states and school districts will NOT return F2F in the fall. The teachers unions, by and large, are strong and organized, and concerned for the health of their teachers (as they should be!). The kids who will be hurt the most by continued DL- low income families where the parents are working and kids are left on their own, lack of reliable internet connection, not enough food- these folks aren’t organized and have little power. There are many districts where students completely fell off the map in March. We have to admit that we will essentially be giving up on these kids.
