I have a soft spot for them too. I'm not a royal watcher (really!) but I heard about them and learned about them and just kind of like them. They seem, dare I say, somewhat normal? No scandal, no gossip, just a normal couple who seem to be sensible and raising nice kids. Danish people in general seem to be sensible.

I love love love Princess Sofia of Sweden. If you are ever bored, watch their wedding. It is the most unique, lovely, full of love wedding I have ever seen. So? Good for her. She made her own money and some mistakes along the way. I think she’s cool but if everyone abided by your “rules”, the world would be pretty boring, don’t you think?

I love her speech on his 50th birthday celebrations. She is amazing and she is not Dane either.

+1 - she learned Danish SO quickly and it really endeared her to the Danish people. Compared with Princess Charlene of Monaco who refuses to learn French and always looks like she has one step out the door. Queen Maxima is Argentinian and also learned Dutch very quickly!
