My boyfriend in college smelled. He was allergic to whatever they put in deodorant (this was before Tom’s and all that was readily available) and he had body odor all the time. Tried his best with baby powder, plain soap, etc.

I loved him and I just grew used to his scent. He had clean clothes and hair, he just, smelled.

He was hot and I can’t smell baby powder without thinking of him to help perfectly honest.

Even if OP does stink, there are far better ways to communicate with someone with whom you’re in a relationship. It sounds like he is working on making her feel very unsure of herself, which is a step toward controlling someone. She needs to let him go. Then take a step back and assess what she needs to do for herself.
