Hello from Texas. My U11 DD team will be going out to Jeff Cup for first time. Looking forward to facing some great East Coast talent. Any insights as to must do’s in the Richmond area? Restaurants?

Boathouse for dinner, Lulu’s for brunch, fine arts and civil war museums are quite good.

Jeff cup is a big tournament. You could be staying outside of Richmond.

Or you could spend your time talking to brilliant people at the tourney like this guy. Probably could not find the right sports bar. If you cannot find something interesting to do there, you are probably not too interesting yourself.

This is an excellent point. Try to narrow down where you're staying at. There's plenty to do, but my advice is check the weather about a week prior. Could have snow flurries, could be low 60s.

Well, there was a big 2nd amendment rally in Richmond last weekend so other than the weather not much different than Texas.

Top U11s are playing on fields Northwest of Richmond, Striker Park I believe. That's one of the more affluent areas with plenty of restaurants and such. You probably won't have much down time especially if you are able to advance to finals. DC is more than an hour away. I would recommend taking an extra day or two and visit DC.

Good luck! There are some good teams as always. If you can make it past Cedar Stars, Lehigh is the favorite. Just saw the committee switched out Loudoun to top bracket and moved Great Falls to 2nd tier. That was the right move as Loudoun is much better.

Short Pump area is a favorite to stay. Lots of hotels and restaurants. Suburban, if you like that vibe.

Yep. Exactly like DC. Same shops as on 14th street. NW DC west of 14th today is nothing more than a giant suburb. Go to Church Hill or Shockhoe if you want something a tad more urban. But essentially all of it is gentrified.

Lots of BBQ and brew pubs.
