You are filthy disgusting trash. There is literally no depth to which the gun lobby will not sink to. Enjoy your little school shooters flea market, because the new laws will taking effect July 1, and you are out of business.

How will this law be enforced? Seems like folly that could end in serious violence.

I hate guns, and I hope American gets to this vision one day, but it will take time. This bill seems incredibly unrealistic.

To add, I'm a teacher and I'm against screwing kids for their parents' actions. Find another leverage.

If you actually read this thread, the ultra crazies are the ones cheering the theoretical massacre of legal gun owners and enjoying the thought of prison rape as motivation of compliance.

Its comical how much these snowflakes care about legal guns, while ignoring the illegal ones .

I totally agree. I hope these people were joking.

Sb16 from last year.

Now they're talking about grandfathering some firearms.

If you actually bread the proposed legislation bit bans nearly every firearm other than shotguns and revolvers.

But if you flipped the coin, can't we just send you to California or New Jersey. I mean Ive lived my entire life in Virginia, how long have you been here?

I've lived in VA my entire life as well - probably more years than you. I support your unlimited right to muskets. Go for it! Other than that, you and your fellow gun nuts need to enjoy yourselves silly to death in your own dystopian culture together, and leave the rest of us well alone.

For those of you who think that the 2nd Amendment applies only to "muskets", what about the 1st amendment? Do you think that "freedom of the press" applies only to hand-operated wooden presses? What about radio, TV, and the internet? They're not mentioned in the first amendment, so maybe we can regulate those outlets the way that MDA and other groups want to regulate modern guns.

So I should have access to any "arms' i want by your reasoning.

Shoulder launched missles, nukes, it all.

Ok.

You can actually own modern fighter aircraft, tanks, and artillery.

Gatling guns too.

It bans many shotguns as well. My 1967 Browning skeet gun would turn me into a felon overnight, not even in California would this be true. Talk about ridiculous.

LOL. Keep grasping at straws, and thanks for setting our Country back by helping Trump get elected.

Someone DID bring a gun to the Old Town farmers market, next to City Hall - and City of Alexandria couldn't do anything about it, because of state law.

And I doubt very much that voters in Wisconsin will vote for DJT because the Virginia General Assembly gives City of Alexandria the right to ban guns on city property.

It scared adults more than children. The ones who should be rational.

Why TF would anyone bring a gun to a fcking farmers market? If you’re going to pull stupid stunts like that then you get irrational reactions.

Presumably to celebrate their rights, provoke a reaction or protect themselves?

It is expensive though. For any of the fun full auto toys, your looking around $10000 and up, often around $30-$35k for the good stuff.

Northam needs to make his stand on this next year. Because if he doesn’t, it threatens to basically negate the power of state governance as a operating model. You can’t have a bunch of elected county yahoos deciding what laws get enforced in their inbred little fiefdoms.

If that means Northan has to call up the National Guard to enforce gun laws, so be it. And any cop who doesn’t enforce the new laws needs to be fired. And the state needs to cut off all funding for any county that declares itself a gun sanctuary. Lastly, I really do think some examples are going to have to be made, quickly, and dramatically, when the new laws come into effect, especially for banning assault weapons. There needs to be in overwhelming show of force directed at gun nutters who aren’t complying, and they need to face the full fury of police and National Guard. Once the rest of them see that clinging to their guns might literally get them pulled from their cold dead hands like their bumper sticker says, those cowards will fall in line pretty quick. But examples will have to be made at first. I hope Northam is up to the task. He weathered the storm about the yearbook pretty well, so that’s encouraging, since he’s got the character for a fight. But I worry that he’ll relent on this the first time some trailer trash or rednecks with assault weapons get massacred by a police SWAT team.

Cool same should be done to Sanctuary cities too. National Guard should sweep through them going door to door to make sure everyone is a citizen.

You are a lunatic, please stay in Maryland. Unlike you we do not want a civil war or any kind of war for that matter.

DP

A bunch of militia wanna-be's and other assorted trash getting shot up by the authorities is NOT a civil war. Stop being so dramatic.

Jesus I always held liberals to a higher standard . I guess not. But keep it up, you are just confirming your hate towards those who choose to own guns.

You people make it so easy to hate you. Who can resist?

I am a liberal and have made that clear several times idiot.

I was replying to the gun nutter, not you. I'm sorry, I thought that was apparent in my posts. I was talking about hating the gun nutters.

And Im the liberal gun owner from Arlington who laid out SB16 several pages ago.

Did the NRA talking points email tell you to call yourself a "liberal"? We can see right through your BS

Despite being headquarter Ed in the state the NRA has been entirely silent on the proposed laws and he reaction by many rural counties.

Every gun started out as a legal gun before it became an illegal one. There is no difference between the two, a gun is a gun. Period. Therefore we have to get rid of ALL of them. The fact that simple logic like this is beyond you people, or you’re simply unwilling to acknowledge this, shows the depths of your depravity. Ultimately, you’re going to have two choices ahead of you, and I don’t really care which you choose: you can give your guns to the police to dispose of, OR, you will be a criminal and will eventually be reported by someone, and will either go to jail for a very, very long time, or be killed in a confrontation with law enforcement. Your choice. Again, I don’t care which, as long as either case happens.

I really hope Northan, Herring and the General Assembly embrace the mandate they’ve been handed by voters, because it represents a truly unique opportunity to show the country how proceed against guns with real leadership, backed up by voters who swung the balance of power with common sense gun safety laws in mind. A very, very small minority of Virginians own the guns, and the rest of Virginia is sick and tired of being held hostage by them. I hope along with banning repeating or automatic guns and assault weapons and guns that use magazine clips or any other system that allows a gun to fire more than once without some kind of lengthy reloading procedure, that there will also be a law component to allow the public to report gun criminals who are hoarding banned weapons. There should be a large reward incentive offered for anonymously turning in people with banned guns, paid for with heavy fines levied on gun criminals. Once gun hoarders realize it’s only a matter of time before someone who knows them reports them, many will voluntarily surrender peacefully. This would go a long ways to reducing the number of law enforcement raids needed to seize guns from scofflaws.

You don’t sound like a particularly bright person, but I hope you are at least smart enough to realize that you simply can’t win this. The days of people having guns are over.
