If you are curious about a specific one(s) or all of them, I will be more than happy to explain further what each means.

Which ones do you have? All of them?

Can't we all come to an agreement and give these gun nut anarchists Florida or something? Give them the penis state and maybe they'll feel less inadequate.

But if you flipped the coin, can't we just send you to California or New Jersey. I mean Ive lived my entire life in Virginia, how long have you been here?

I've lived in VA my entire life as well - probably more years than you. I support your unlimited right to muskets. Go for it! Other than that, you and your fellow gun nuts need to enjoy yourselves silly to death in your own dystopian culture together, and leave the rest of us well alone.

I've been here my entire adult life, which is now as long+ as my life prior to that.

I can't help that I did not grow up in this state, but I did chose it as my place to live and raise my family.

And I choose not to have a gun nut culture.

And do you have any high-capacity magazines?

Yes to: Folding/telescoping stock, Pistol grip, Secondary grip, Compensator/ Flash hider/ Muzzle brake, and threaded barrel. I don't see what is wrong with any of these features and they are commonplace among most modern rifles.

I don't have a firearm with a bayonet lug, they really aren't my thing, but the majority of pre 1960 services rifles have them as a standard feature. I don't really see how the ability to mount a bayonet turns your great granddads bolt action Mauser/Springfield into an assault weapon.

LMAO no Grenade launchers, Im not sure where they are getting this from, I want to say I had a flare gun in an old Vietnam era emergency kit that was given by a neighbor. But I haven't seen that in years.

I have a few NFA items like suppressors. In addition to the standard NICS background check you go through when you buy a gun there was a 9-14 month wait, a $200 check to ATF, the submission of fingerprints and passport style photographs to law enforcement. You are also required to notify the CLEO of your City/County of your intended purchase. All of this occurs every time you wish to purchase a NFA item.

I have standard capacity magazines, no 100 round drums or anything. Just the magazine that were intended to be utilized for the specific firearms.

And I can choose to exercise my 2A rights without being a nut. We do it everyday here in Arlington and the other more liberal parts of the state.

Why do you need any of those specific features?

What is the largest magazine you own?

And if your current guns are grandfathered then why so worried?

A telescoping stock has been the standard for 30 years or so for modern rifles and its main purpose is convenience. It allows you to adjust the length of pull (LOP) which is most comfortable to you. There are usually 3,5 or 6 settings with around 10" of total variation, this helps accommodate men and women of all sizes. It also helps make the rifle a bit shorter when storing it.

A folding stocks purpose is more for making the weapon as small as possible for storage.

Muzzle brakes and compensators are essentially the same thing. They direct the gas leaving the muzzle in a certain direction or pattern to slightly dampen the recoil. The trade off is, they make the gun louder and create a very large flash. Flash Hiders are just that, they eliminate some of the flash from the muzzle and have been be standard since the mid 60s. If you've ever seen a rifle shot at night you can still clearly see the flash from the muzzle even with a flash hider. Without one it can be blinding and distracting. Many companies including the great flash light manufacturer Surefire use muzzle brakes or flash hiders as there way of mounting suppressors.

Pistol grips and forward grips are features which provide enhanced ergonomics for some shooters, myself included. Pistol grips are also a part of the original designs of many of these guns, they weren't added for extra lethality, or "assault purposes". Neither one of these features makes a gun more dangerous. Along with muzzle devices and telescoping stocks, pistol grips seems to give guns that "scary" look, however it is more style and less substance.

Suppressors are interesting. I entered down that rabbit hole out of respect for my neighbors and their horses (who am I kidding, it was just a great excuse to get a suppressor). It is about 50 acres, but a day of shooting rifles really bothered some of the horses at two adjacent properties. Even if I can only make it there 15-20 times a year I felt the investment was worth it. Contrary to the movies these devices do not make a gun silenced. they are still around 120-135db, well above the "hearing safe" levels.

50, and it is not for an AR15. It is the standard magazine for a specific Belgian firearm....

I wouldn't have a problem with that, I know many others who would. But after some of the extreme legislation I've seen from a couple other states, i'll believe that when it happens. I already went through a background check for each firearm purchased, the paperwork is still on file and will be forever. Virginia has a state form which VSP can obtain at any time and ATF can obtain the 4473.

Why should I "register" these again? And with who? The State or a local government? Who has access to this information and what do they do with it? If there is a criminal complaint against me related to firearms or any serious crime at the Federal, State or local level my information can already be accessed. What happens when a spouse or parent dies? Can they pass along firearms or will it be property of the State at that point?
