All of that is unrelated to the Justice department conspiracy-theory probe into the origins of Russiagate. That investigation may be stupid and waste of money, but it probably isn't illegal.

Keep your eye on the ball and don't let them whip you up about the side-show. They really, really want to roll Ukraine into that, and it isn't the same thing at all.

Actually, that thing about the "dirt" was entirely fabricated by Adam Schiff in his opening statement to DNI Maguire's testimony. Later on during the hearing, Schiff claimed he wasn't "lying," it was simply his version of a "parody."

Yet the MSM are using Schiff's "lie/parody" of "digging up dirt" supposedly requested by Trump as the prevailing meme. And so are you.

Parodies are for clowns. Schiff is a clown. Are you?

And, let's not forget that Nancy Pelosi then went on 60 Minutes and accused Trump of trying to get Ukraine to "create" information.

It is no surprise that the Democrats are making statements that simply are not true.

And the official White House explanation for withholding the military aid from Ukraine is...

Nada. Because there's no possible explanation. That is legal.

Imagine for a second that this was AG Lynch traveling around asking foreign officials to debunk an FBI report her boss didn't like.

It's more than that. They're actually asking foreign governments to say that Russia didn't hack us n 2016 but rather that Obama did!

Not to say that he did, but to say IF he did. Big difference.

Nope. You're incorrect.

Tell me where Trump admin told foreign governments to lie or manufacture information.

Someone? Anyone? Schiff and Pelosi are saying this, too. Can someone point to documentation of this?

The theses he is trying to support are complete bunk. Alex Jones level stuff.

These false claims against Trump were part of Schiff's opening statement in the recent DNI hearing, in which Schiff completely fabricated allegations against Trump and falsely claimed they were contained within the whistle blower's letter. They were not, and Schiff was forced to later on recant his falsities, claiming they were meant as a "parody."

Despite Schiff's recantation, the MSM is now relying on his initial false statements at the hearing as their "source" for all of this.

Obama was the President during the 2016 campaign, was apparently aware of the alleged Russian interference, yet did absolutely nothing to stop it. If it's true that Russian interference occurred, investigation of the Obama Administration's failure to do anything to stop it is indeed warranted. On the other hand, if there wasn't significant Russian interference, that would explain why Obama did nothing about it. In either case, there is nothing wrong with Barr requesting the assistance of foreign governments to get to the bottom of this. Just as Obama's use of foreign governmental resources to spy on the Trump campaign is possibly not illegal, although maybe it was illegal.

Facts are immaterial to you.

Obama did some things to stop it although was, as we can see, unable to do so. It's true that Russian interference occurred. Everyone has acknowledged that, from Mueller to Trump himself (in private, although not in public). We don't need to do more investigating, because we know how it all happened. Barr is not "requesting the assistance of foreign governments to get to the bottom of this". He is trying to get foreign governments to intervene on Trump's behalf, which is inappropriate for many reasons.

We know that Christopher Steele received information from agents of the Russian Government which was then used by the U.S. governmentand the DNC to influence the 2016 election. Clearly, Russian influence in American elections, including on behalf of the Democrats, needs to be investigated.

Somehow you seem to have missed Mueller's investigation. Maybe you've been on sabbatical since 2016? In the wilds of the Amazon or somewhere with no internet connection?

Mueller did not investigate the origins of the information in the Steel Dossier. In fact, he specifically declined to do so based on the fact that it was the continuing subject of a separate I.G. investigation, which apparently is on going.

Me personally, I'm relying on my common sense to figure this out.

I look at the memo of the phone call + withholding the Ukrainian military aid and I get Trump was abusing his office, trying to make the Ukrainian president make up dirt about Biden. "I would like you to do us a favor, though" and “Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution, so if you can look into it, it sounds horrible to me.”.

Attorney General William P. Barr has held private meetings overseas with foreign intelligence officials seeking their help in a Justice Department inquiry that President Trump hopes will discredit U.S. intelligence agencies’ examination of Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to people familiar with the matter.

This is crazy! Trump is ready to burn USA down to save his butt and it seems like Barr, Pompeao et. al are helping him. We are doomed as country.

There’s nothing wrong with this. Barr should be asking all of the foreign intelligence services about it also.

No, he really shouldn't.

Sure is taking a long time. Given how you all whined and moaned about how long Mueller was taking, it's weird that you're quiet about the length of time and resources the GOP counter-investigations are taking.

It is batsh1t crazy.

Discredit the Mueller report? Where in the hell are you getting that idea?

This isn't about discrediting his report. It is to identify the origins of the disinformation that led to his entire investigation.
There is ample evidence that some in our IC community and government abused their power to force Mueller's investigation. If these people broke laws, shouldn't they be held accountable?

I know it may be a reach, but consider for a moment, that the origins of the investigation were legitimitate.

That perhaps Papadopolous, who was at best, an intern at the Hudson Institute, really had no business being considered a Foreign Policy Expert by the Trump Campaign.
That perhaps a number of unsavory people with backgrounds associated with crime in Ukraine and Russia were at the head of the Trump campaign.
That perhaps Trump himself, had been laundering Russian money for decades and was a compromised candidate.

Just consider that for a moment and then look at these activities today through a different lens.

You have to speculate. We have documentation

This is sarcasm, right?

Actually, it’s not. Why don’t you know this?

Actually, Mueller did investigate the beginning of the investigation and found it was all in order. You would know that if you read the report.

Given that there was no investigation that involved Hunter Biden and no evidence of any wrongdoing, the only way there was going to be "dirt" is if it were manufactured.

So the theory of the case is that the Deep State set up Trump as a tool of Russia by re-opening an investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails weeks before the election and then waited until after the election to reveal their fake Trump collusion narrative with Russia. Do we have that right?

No, it's crazier than that. Supposedly every foreign government started q campaign against Trump in 2016 in secret, part of which involved luring him to pick Manafort as campaign manager, Papadapalous as coffee boy, etc. And now, in 2019, the trap is sprung!

But Trump's importuning Ukraine is NBD. Because.

Mueller didn't even read his own report.

Why should anyone else?
